Hi. Smoke free for one week! I have an Elite 808 now. My wife is quitting smokes too (after trying my vaper). Nice!

So now i need a new vaper. Although i like the 808, It feels inconsistent on throat hit (read ahead) - i have some questions on it, maybe this will help me to determine my next device.

Thanks for any help in advance.

I bought the Elite 808 with ALOT of Catomizers from e cig easy and a DIY kit. 24 mg all around. The Elite 808 is a two piece setup by the way - Cartomizer and Battery.

Big difference between the DIY cartomiszer and the Extra Gold Cartomizers.

The Extra Gold Cartos are good for the first 5 hits, but after that, the throat hit is inconsistent - sometimes it hits nice, sometimes it very airy. Its enough to feed my craving, its just not as satisfying.

The DIY i did this - took off the whistle tip, dripped 50 drops of juice, put tip back on. Didnt let it drip in the center, very clean. Taking a hit off that thing is like smoking a Cigar! Very strong and doesnt feel right.

So, i have two opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of throat hit.

Ideally, i would find a unit that would give me "average" and consistent throat hit, look like a cig stick somewhat, and be easy to set up (this is more for my wifes need). The cartos are very easy to use by the way.

Any advice? Maybe i am doing something wrong with the elite 808? Thanks.

If you're looking for a hard hit, get a big battery and low resistance coil...

My favourite hard hits are when I use my homemade passthrough. Sometimes too hard to I got a USB compatible portable battery if I don't feel like having as hard of hits as it has slightly less voltage than the regular USB output of my computer of wall socket plug.

Hi there! Happy to hear vaping is going well for you. I am on my thrid upgrade and asked the similiar question just last week. I got great suggestions, researched like crazy and am now, purchasing the following from MadVapes.
eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Kit
extra Flat-Tip Cartomizers
510 Shorty Extensions
Syringe & Needle for filling
2 amp AC to USB adapter

I started with an ecig that looked like a regular cig -- that lasted about 2 months. Upgraded to a 900Mah 1.2ml drip system which still works pretty good, but I hate dripping all the time. Tank system -- people either love it or hate it -- so I decided to skip it. Best wishes!

If you get a chance try out the clearomizers ce2's. Its a carto thats more like a tank. I've had pretty consistent vaping with them. There's some newer versions out also of them but I have not tried them yet so do not know to recommend them or not. Can't hurt to try them.

Definitely looking into this! Thanks for the share...

I use the hottest cartos usable on a slim KR8 (ones around 2.5 ohms) - the Vapor4Life WOW cartos and the Bloogplanet cartos (which are cooler mainly because the coil is at the bottom but do give a bigger drag easier than the V4L ones). I can get 7 days good use easily out of cartos. I use manual batteries (harder to damage or kill with juice leaks, easier to get a good hit) and I keep my cartos damp with suitable juice, suitable juice being thin and clear. I use clear juices with 20% or less VG or a couple of the Vapor4Life WOW juices (thin and the ones I get leave no flavoring sediment - WOWbacco and WOW Vanilla). If I see a juice dropping flavoring sediment in the carto, I find a different juice. I use a plastic or delrin drip tip as the mouthpiece instead of the carto endcap (cool on the lips and easy to remove to add juice - with carto off the battery).

You can get longer lasting batteries but you already have 3.7v batteries since 808 is 3.7v. There is no stronger slim ecig (though you can try possibly better cartos). If you go to a big battery model - most people still use cartomizers. Other than that there are various carto tank things you can put on big batteries and there are box-shaped plastic wood or metal juice-bottle mods with a juice bottle in them (wetbox, juice feeder, bottom feeder which feed juice into an atomizer). See Old Goat's mods and other in Buying & Selling... Mods and Accessories, see Reosmods.com, and others.
