I have been reading these forums for a while now, always find them helpful. I am posting what seems to be a frequently asked series of questions, and there doesn't seem to be a good consensus or an answer I can bank on, but here goes. Some of this might be helpful to newer people scoping out e-cigs for the first go round.

I was a pack a day camel non smoker.
I first got the JOYE 501. It did nothing in terms of getting a hit (TH), wasn't going to cut it.
I got the Screwdriver. Good hit, but hated the fact that it was always needing to be topped off an messed with. I still will use it though so I am not an unhappy customer, but I wanted something that lasted longer without topping.
I got the Tornado Tank. I actually like this one.

My trouble is in finding the right juice. I am still smoking about 7-10 cigs a day, and I really do want to get off of them. Cut down by half is good, but I attribute some of the struggle to just not having the e-cig and e-liquid dialed in to my satisfaction.

I got 36mg juice from wicked (camel, ruyan, tobacco, blended tobacco, coffee, dark plum, and cherry). I kind of hate the tobacco ones because it just doesn't come close to the camel non, but I see that basically the consensus is that there really isn't such a thing. I actually have begun to appreciate that flavors really can distract from the desire for an analog, so I am a convert. I do get a good throat hit from these juices, sometimes it feels even too harsh, sometimes not enough, but ultimately I do know if something is gonna work or not. I have been getting a headache from the 36mg and I want to go down to 24mg. But I really do have to find a juice(s) that will keep me faithful to vaping over smoking analogs. Cherry, oddly enough, is the one juice that almost made me feel like I could make the transition totally -- good throat hit, new flavor taste, good vapor through my Tornado. But for an all day thing it is not quite close enough -- slight medicinal taste, not so good.

I just got the atomic cinnacide from Tasty Vapor, and I made a custom cherry lemonade. The cherry lemonade is un-vapable, too much medicinal taste. But the cinnacide is ok, but not enough vapor to the point it is oddly unsatisfying (I got all PG for the throat hit). But again, I have to try lower nic because I am getting headaches, so I worry about losing the throat hit, which would hinder me from embracing the e-cig totally.

I ordered some samplers (all 24mg) from Backwoods Brew, as well as flue cured, Bobas Bounty and Gorilla Juice from Alien Vision, but I don't hold out a lot of hope because a lot of so-called stronger juices (36mg cinnacide) are barely there in terms of that hit.

My question basically is... Where is the juice? Should I consider a different (higher voltage) PV, or will I find a juice that will deliver me, AND be able to satisfy my throat as I go down in nic levels? I can't use PGA (pure grain alcohol) or alcohol to mix because I can't have that around the house if you know what I mean. I just want to find a juice that I can live with.

I would love a good answer, because I really do want to make this vaping thing work. What say you all?

Re: juice, in my very limited experience, I've found that Vaperite's organics line pretty amazing. Very clean tasting flavors, not chemical at all (I've tried three so far: blueberry cheesecake, boysenberry, and strawberry shortcake). They're on the subtle side, though, so I don't know if that'd work for you. You can pick up a six flavor sampler for $20, I think.

I'll let the others talk about voltage, because I don't know squat about that. Good luck!

try FreedomSmokeUSA Desert Ship - it's a strong Turkish blend (I believe Camels are a Turkish blend). I was my analog-alike substitute. I was not a Camel smoker but something about the funky nutty and slightly pungent aroma Turkish blends have reminds me of a freshly opened pack (and I am not the only fan of Desert Ship). For variety I would also change it up a bit by adding FreedomSMokeUSA Chocolate, Vanillas, oRYental 4 (sweet caramel tobacco) to the carto or cartomizer.

And FreedomSmokeUSA also sells a Camtel which is their Camel-alike - try that too.

If you want something more subtle than Desert Ship but like that Turkish smell, try Backwoods Brew Casablanca (complex Turkish blend w/ a bit of cocoa) and I sometime add a bit of FreedomSmokeUSA Cocoa to that (FSUSA Cocoa is an almost bitter strong cocoa - it will give muscles to any tobacco).

Your idea of a better PV is on the right track, especially considering what you smoke. I have a Screwdriver and it is a fine PV. But is just can't compare to the throat hit and consistency you get from a good 5 volt or variable volt PV. In the 5 volt versions, I would suggest the GLV2 from: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor or one of Ken's 5 volt box mods for a little less cost: Box Mods .

For variable volt I would suggest the Darwin from nhaler.com or the ProVari or Infinity.

All of these PV's will give you more throat hit and consistency than the Screwdriver. On the eliquid, I use to smoke Marlboro's and have also never found a flavor that matches it completely. But one you might want to try that is close is Liberty Flights, Home Counties. You can get it in 5 ml to try out for only $2.35.

Good Luck with your quest.

I'm new to vaping as well and as I'm looking at the equipment I've recently purchased layed ou in front of me I'll give you a rundown of my brief experiment. Oh, 35 years smoking Kools to Marlboros a pack a day.

1st try of Ecig was a disposable from a local tobacco shop (a Pure or Pro Smoke) my son had me try, it felt like my lungs were inverting trying to get a hit. No Go.

2nd try was another 2 piece disposable (Fuma) a E9 two piece kit with one batt, one cartomizer a dual charger and got a 5 pack of carts on the side. Wow - great hit, lots of vapor. Batt will last about 6 hours before needing a two hour charge in the USB. There are videos showing how to reload these carts with juice - works well. Cons: Limited selection from local shop (light, menthol or full flavor which is all the distributor advertises on their web site for stated reasons). Seems like the carts are not controlled in the initial filling, two of ten did't last very long at all. Decide to check out what the hype is about the 510.

3rd not a try but a purchase from a supplier that is set up in the Raleigh Swap Meet, Misty Mountain Vapors. Met the owners Brian and Brenda - very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I told them of my ignorance of ecigs and they were all about setting me on the right path by listening and explaining then having me try samples of the items I was curious about. I walked away feeling confident about my new healthy hobby. I purchased an eGo-T with a reg cart and low resistance cart, cherry, apple, mint and no flavor juice all 24 mg. WOW= talk about a throat hit - the low res cart will blow you away - I use the reg cart regularly and save the low res for the evening easy vape. The flavors are Great! Mint is strong and luckily I was warned and heeded that warning. The juce bottles all had the safety caps. Great web site too, I checked it out and compared - they rate very high in my limited searches. Brian said he ships straight away as well - I'll test that soon. He was a little taken back when I told him I had just ordered from a competitor FreedomSmoke USA but I couldn't wait to get the shipment. Good people I look forward to doing more business with them.

4th Purchase I searched this site and checked out the supplier review forum (So many suppliers/reviews - made my head spin). I ended up checking out the suppliers that got mentioned that had a lot of replies listed. Came across FSUSA and nothing but positive replies that I saw so I ordered. My son and I actually placed a double order. 510 Kits (2 batts preloaded cart) with extra extended batts, Drip tip, USA mix preloaded cart 5 packs, sampler packof juices. They threw in an extra juice and a bunch of women signed the shipping list with Thanks - cool.Orderedsaturday afternoon received the package monday - fantastic! 510 Hits like others have said here - great. Juice - all as good of quality as the Misty Mountain offering. I cut the flavor with the no flavor and I'm working on the right mix.

I now carry the 2nd, third and forth items with me so I can change up during the day and so I dont have to carry a juice bottle with me or run dry. Works great. Typed way more than I intended to but just want to help.

Last thing - Find a way to contribute to the hurting souls in Japan.

Sounds like you need a different atomizer.
What ohms are the ones you are using?
The LR306 and LR510 will give a lot more heat and a better hit.
Try them at 1.5ohm or 2.0ohm.
Cisco spec attys can be purchased at Avid Vaper : Electronic Cigarettes, E-Liquid and Accessories.
Welcome to IkenVape has high quality LR atomizers as well.

So there is another variable to toss into the mix... resistance of atty. I honestly don't know which ones came with mine, but I will need replacements obviously. Interesting. It look like some are designed to fit the eGo Tank I have... I will give a try. Looks like they are cheaper than the ones from my tank manufacturer. Thx.

I have some Casablanca coming in trial size. I will also give FSUSA a shot as well, heard from a few about that. I will re-post when I do for posterity. Thx for your post.

Oh goodness another rig(s) to try. It is cool but frustrating too. Someone else mentioned the GLV2 one, but it is expensive. When I am feeling cavalier I will look into these. And I will re-post if I do, like for posterity. Thx for your advice.

I appreciate the long post. Great stories, and how can you resist a bunch of women signing the shipping list. I hope they do mine like yours. :)

And yes, now I feel like a schmuck for being concerned about my e-gigs when japan is basically in the trouble it is. Yes, find a way.

I got my juice from alien vision today.

Boba's Bounty
Gorilla Juice
Flue Cured

Here is the deal: I tried Boba's and Gjuice. While I find the flavors really compelling, it simply needs more punch. It's like a cruel tease. I can taste hints of what I want the experience to be. Just lacks the hit, the lung punch that I know I can get. It is a drag because they are the kind of tastes I know would keep me off the camel nons.

The all vg mix is too thick to use my tank, but at 3.7 volts it still just won't cut it. Such a bummer. Gonna hope fsusa is more to my liking.

For a kick .... cherry lemonade try Mr. E Liquid... His juice is fantastic... and anything he makes with lemon is just superb IMHO.. :) If you're a menthol fan check out the lemon ice and cherry cough drop!

I want to add that for flavor and th the tank is decent but dripping onto the atty is what really does it for me! Good luck!

Toss out the tank and get some LR306 attys at 1.5ohms...

If you don't get punched with one of those...

I dont know what to tell you...

Heard this, but when I looked into them I read there is a learning curve to use them properly (which seems ridiculous) but it put me off. What do I need to know about using them?
