Ok I've been trying to read up as much as I can. I'm still new to this and def new to VV. I got my vivi nova today in the mail and needing to know more on what voltage for what ohm stuff. Is there a easy to follow rule or thread I can read up. I have been trying to search but its a broad question with so many variables not sure where to start etc...

I filled up my vivi with juice and left the 2.4 head that came on it on there. I put up to 4.5V and I'm getting a gurgling sound right off the bat coming out of it, but stops after I start sucking in for a second is this normal? so what voltage can I play around with on each size head?

Sorry I know this has probably been covered 9 million times. Theres just so much out there to read.

I have the 2.4Ohm head on there and its reading 2.6ohm
First of all, you need to check the resistance of the coil. Vivi Nova heads can be way off base. I assume you've learned how to check an atomizer resistance? Check it, and post it. I can give you a good idea of where to go from there.

Personally, I'd start at 5V and adjust to taste.

The gurgling is either because you over-filled it or because there's condensation/liquid inside the top cap b/t it and the drip tip.

The liquid shouldn't be quite up to the wicks…I fill mine to b/t the 2.8 ml line on the tube and the bottom of the wicks.

That liquid buildup in the top cap can also lead to weird flavors and/or a slight burning taste for some reason. Liquid trapped in the drip tip can do the same. I have no idea why, but blowing out the drip tip and showing some paper towel inside the top cap (where the drip tip goes into it) to dry up the condensation always helps.

Acutally I looked at where I filled it and its just a smidget hair above the 2.8 Line on the tank. I'm not getting a burnt taste at all just the popping/gurggling/sizzeling sound. It might just be normal and I'm thinking im hearing something out of the ordinary being new to this. I mean it does boil the juice on the coil to create vapor so maybe I'm just hearing that. IDK

As far as the voltage. I'm just trying to figure out where to be with the different heads. Do you guys use the different heads or just keep using the same one? So its the higher the Ohms like 2.5-3 the higher the V's you want to use? and the lower like 1.7-2.5 the lower V's you want to use? and in between there its just personal preference? Just trying to make sure I'm not doing it wrong and going to burn something out sooner then it should be etc...

IME, you'll taste disgusting, burning juice before you burn something out in one shot.

My personal, evolving rule of thumb is to double the resistance of the device and start there unless it's below 3.7V, at which point I start at 3.7. It's not scientific. It's not always right. But it's close-ish for the numbers I tend to use.

Also, there is some noise from a VN. It's vaguely like the sizzle cartomizers make, but it's a lot quieter.

Random side note, a very close friend has a chihuahua named Smidget. He's kind of awesome……for a chihuahua. Mostly because he's so ridiculous.

If you think the volts are too high, turn them down. Adjust to taste, not to a wattage chart.

Especially since all the wattage charts are based as much on the creator's whims as any science or math.

I have 2 VN heads that I've used tonight. Both measure 2.3 ohms. One of them tastes burney at 4.3V, the other is great at 5.1V and could probably go a bit higher if I wanted shorter drags.

Thank you and I'm catching on now. Its more of a preference thing from user to user and how you want to vape.

Similar here. I start at two volts over the ohm reading. 2.4 ohms, I start at 4.4 volts. Then I tweak up until I go past what makes me happy and back off one tenth of a volt.

I find the VNs to be best at much more cpnservative voltage settings.. in other words.with a single coil carto at 2.4 I would have no problem pushing 5 volts and up..however with the VN, i find that they seem to be better (i.e. much less "burny tasting") at say 4.2 - 4.5

I actually run my 2.8 heads at around these settings - I tend to like a milder/cooler vape than a warmer one however.. seems the same on my twist as well - I never pay much attention though as I tend to adjust to taste and that changes depending on the time of day and my mood
