So thaaat's why they want to regulate them like cigarettes... because there's actual cigarettes inside of them. Who knew?

Well, this was a pretty rambling article, touching only briefly on e-cigarettes. My favorite part was the sensibility of this:

Dougherty said the Abingdon area has also seen a slight increase in car accidents last month in comparison to 2013. Six accidents were reported in 2014 and only three in 2013.

He said the increase in accidents is probably attributed to the heavy snow and ice the county had this winter.

When I finish "smoking" my e-cig, I throw it on the ground and stomp on it, to make sure that it's out.

That's unsafe, you could still start a fire by accident. Whenever I finish smoking my e-cig, I throw it in water before walking away. (BTW, why do people say vaping is cheaper than smoking? Isn't working out that way for me...)

This really is an informative article. I kept finding these microscopic packs of cigarettes laying around on the table and floor and couldn't figure out where they came from. My e cig must be leaking.

Thank you!!!! Now, finally, I understand(*) why the EU TPD bans e-cigs that aren't totally leakproof. It's because of these microscopic packs of cigarettes littering the place. Fairy-children pick them up and start smoking. WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE FAIRY-CHILDREN?????

He said the increase in accidents is probably attributed to the heavy snow and ice the county had this winter.

I'm very glad someone has pointed that out for me. I mean, I did once wonder whether snow and ice make car accidents more likely, but without this welcome scientific confirmation I'd have gone on dismissing this as just some weird left-field theory of my own.

I also very much appreciate the recorded announcements on stations telling me the astounding fact that the platforms may be slippery due to weather conditions. Although I've lived in Scotland for seven years, it's never occurred to me that rain and snow might make the ground slippery.

(*) Warning: this may not actually be the real reason. If you experience any unusual symptoms when reading humourous posts, please consult your physician.
