So I think the PVP I chose (the Joye eGo) comes with pre filled carts. Can I refill them when they are empty or should I buy different carts that get filled? At least one of the carts is 0 mg of nicotine, can I empty that and put stronger in? I don’t think I am ready for 0 mg yet.
I guess experimenting is the way to go, but I just need to know what to order initially so I get what I need. I guess I will eventually move to dripping (that sounds illegal!) but I don’t know if the starter kit I am getting will do that.

The kit comes with 2 atty, 2 batt, 5 MLB (what does MLB mean) flavored carts, 2 atty covers, chargers, adapters, pouch etc
I need to order extra juice, but how much for a few weeks, to a months supply? Will I need more hardware?

Welcome to the world of vaping. And congrats, the Ego is a good choice.

Yes, Carts can be refilled. They have a cottonlike material in them that soaks up the liquid.
You can just (carefully) remove that material, rinse it with water, dry it (either overnight, or with a towel).
Then put it back in the cart and fill it with your own juice.

MLB stands for Marlboro. But don't expect it to actually taste like a Marlboro.
The only way to simulate the taste of a real cigarette, is to smoke a real cigarette.

A decent average for juice per week is about 3ML per day. So about 20ML per week.

You should also consider getting a couple extra atomizers.

Good luck, enjoy.

Hi, and welcome to ECF. The eGo is a great choice. I wouldn't bother emptying a cart, I'd just vape it because it won't take long anyway. It's a hassle to take the filler out and squeeze the juice out. It's kind of messy too. I go through 2-3 ml of juice a day and I'm about average. I'd order several different strengths and flavors to start. You won't know what mg you need to start out with, and the flavors are really a matter of just trying them to know if you'll like them anyway. I'd suggest not getting too much juice, maybe a two weeks supply so you don't get a bunch of stuff you don't like. You might consider a sampler from one of the juice vendors. That'll give you some variety so you can reorder larger bottles in the strength and flavors you like. If you are going to use cart's, get at least an extra box or two. When I used them I was going through a cart a day on average. They do wear out pretty quickly. You can put new filler in them later, so just save the used ones until you decide to tackle that task. When you place your order, get a drip tip at the same time. They're cheap and it'll save you buying cart's later. It's also about the best way to sample juices in my opinion.

I drip at home, but use cartomizers while driving. Don't drip and drive. Cartomizers hold enough juice to keep me going for quite a while. They have a built in atomizer and hold a lot more than a cartridge. Cartomizers are around $8/box of 5, so they're not too expensive. When dripping you use an atomizer with a drip tip attached. You just drip a few drops through the drip tip into the atomizer.

Padre,
Jonmo1 is spot on.
A good supply of atomizers on hand is very important. Nothing fast enough through the mail. You cant go wrong with having 5 to 10 extra around. I order more when I'm down to 5.
Juice is a personal taste thing. Many different flavors that imitate a brand, but they are all subject to your taste bads and thats the real test. So, tobacco or very strong favorites seem to be a good starting point. Milligrams of nicotine should be a bit high at least to start with around 24, 18 at the minimum. Some would suggest 36 for those trying times when agitation and time stands still from withdrawal.
Vaping isn't smoking but it is effective, and there is a lot of subculture terminology to pick up on. It also has a personal learning curve that you will develop in your own time. It seems like child's play in so many ways, but in fact its very personal.
The best of luck with your first PV experience.

so I should order the starter kit, extra attys, a cartomizer and juice just to get started?

Yes.
You will find that no one vendor sells every thing to fill your needs. Your juice vendor will be taking the lead soon enough once you've got the equipment needs under control.
So start off with 30 ml of some thing that interests you and a sample pack if one is available. Samples really are a cheap way to find your desired flavor/s. I use 2 to 3 different juices all the time. When one drops off in flavor I use another, and so on, until the craving lifts.

That sounds like a good start. A starter kit will give you 2 batt's, 2 atty's, 2 cones, 1 charger and a few cart's. I'd order a box or two of cartridges, a box of cartomizers, an extra atty or 2, and about 30 ml of juice in different strengths and flavors. I'd look here Litecigusa.net, you'll find everything on the list. They have decent prices, great selection, good service, and fast shipping. Orders over $75 are shipped free too. I've bought all my hardware and a lot of juice from them and never had a problem.

I know you haven't asked yet, but I highly recommend VelvetVapors for juice.
Very tasty stuff, made with all natural ingredients (no artificial flavors).
You can get 5 or 10 3ML sample bottles (and she almost always throws in an extra sample bottle or two).

I love the Bananas Foster and Menthol Ice.
The Menthol Ice is really the best menthol I've found, made with real menthol crystals, unlike others that try to imitate with Minty Flavors.

I bought the eGo Maniac kit from goodprophets and have been 100% satisfied with my purchase. It sounds like you were looking at the same kit, and I feel it's a great kit to get started with as it comes with a few extras that other kits don't have. I also picked up a couple eGo Mega cartomizers from them along with a pair of LR atty's for dripping. Goodprophets also sells juice, so you could technically get everything you need to get started from them in a one stop shop :)
