I made a post yesterday about how I was getting dry hits. I tried a couple different things, but now I have a new problem alltogether. I was doing "primer" hits, and it was working a little. But just now, I did a primer hit and it tasted like burnt metal. I didnt even hit the battery and I could taste it. So ive been unscrewing the mouthpiece to air it out from tiem to time. I unscrewed it after the burnt taste and I saw some smoke coming from the bottom of the mouthpiece. Im worried this thing is going to blow up in my face. I think the coil is defective or something.

Im using some starter ecig. Battery seems to be fine. I cant change voltages on it. The only brand I see is on the battery and it says ego-t. Should I ask for a replacement from the shop I got it from? I just bought this 2 days ago, and have probably taken 120 hits or so so far.

I would definitely bring it back. I have the ego-t as well and until my tank cracked, I had no problem with it. Or, you could get a different clearomizer (I'm using an iclear 16, and other than occasional bad heads, it's not terrible. I'm getting a bottom coil type that they say reduces those problems because the wick is always in the liquid, someone correct me if I'm wrong). Your coil is probably burnt out now, I've had those problems with some juices. Darker ones tend to burn out the wicks/coils faster. If it looks like the vapor is coming out of the mouthpiece, that's normal for mine. You could always ask the people at your store for help. The places I've gone to are more than happy to help with any problems.

its weird, right now its vaping ok. the initial awesome flavor still isnt there, but im not getting dry hits either. i think i jsut need a second clearomizer that i can alternate with the one i have, so that when iget dry hits off one, i can let it sit and soak into the wick for a while.

eventually i will get a better quality setup, but i guess for right now ill just buy another and see how that one holds up

Definitely get another one, but you can also hold it horizontal and rotate it to get it up into the wicks. Try a bottom coil type and see if you have better luck with it.

The "smoke" you saw was most likely just vapor remaining in the mouth piece.

I agree with this... It's perfectly normal.

I've also found that with wicks, it sometimes helps to just turn your device upside-down for a few seconds, and then try taking a hit - that seems to work for me almost every time.

Hi don't worry. It is not very likely to blow up.
If you bought a starter set, probably you will not have a very nice performing tank.
Most of them are picked to look good as a set , rather than giving you a very nice vape experience.
Good news is that the most important parts will probably be fine. (Batteries, charger)

Over time you'll notice you might want to change tanks as all have there pro's and con's.

If you have a half decent vape shop, go back and talk to them, they will let you try some other tanks.
Compare some and let them explain the difference between them.
If they are smart they will give you a bit of discount at least since you are not satisfied with your initial purchase.

In the end you will end up spending a little extra (10-20) but trust me, trying to fix a crappy tank usually ends in frustration and a lot of wasted time.

I don't even know what a dry hit is! LoL The atty heads are cheep and EZ to replace. Good luck.

^^^^^ I 2nd this^^^ I'm new to this & haven't used a anything but a Bottom coil & the only time for a dry hit I've had is when I put a new coil in & filled it & was hitting(no power) to get some juice thru to the wick. No dry hit when actually Vaping. I have a KangerTech T3S tank & it's pretty nice. I cant post links yet or I would.
