I'm going to start the convo now and see the responses before elaborating.

For around $40, the amount I wish to spend, what should I get? Looking at either a Box mod Bottom Feeder or a Variable Volt?

I do realize.that if I get a Variable Volt for that little that it won't have the quality or refinement as the more expensive models. Like with the box I don't have a specific model picked out. Now that I think about it a Twist will probably be my best bet at that cost. I use two 900 mAh eGo batts at the moment.

Then I've been wanting a Bottom Feeding Box mod too. Again I don't have anything in mind except some goat dude everone's been talking about, but I've never seen one of his boxes. Again again, what would you get for around $40!

I'm probably leaning towards the box since I wish to start making some.

Anybody have suggestions?

Bah, you're just looking for someone to push you into making a decision you've already made.

Which do you really want? Get it! Or, save up and get a VV bottom feeder.

Personally, I've had a VV bottom feeder, and I sold it. I would go VV all the way. Regulated vaping has spoiled me. I shall never go back. There are always tanks and other devices that can mimic the effect of a feeder (store juice). Just my 2 cents.

I personally like being able to vary the voltage according to which flavor I'm vaping at the time. A few tenths of a volt make a discernible difference to me in taste and vapor. However, if you're thinking of making box mods, that might be the logical choice for you. If you go that route, we'll want to see your work, you know! Enjoy whichever you choose!

There's a huge difference between what VV does versus what bottom feeding does. So, I'm guessing you just want to try something new.

VV adjusts the how hot and how much vapor you get.
Bottom feeding provides a more convenient way to get an experience similar to dripping.

Of the two, in use, the bottom feeder harder to learn to use properly. Also you have to tilt some bottom feeders down to feed. Others you don't. I'm not a fan of tilt and shoot bottom feeders.

Whether it's a Provari or a $35 Madvapes box, VV is VV. The vape is the same. You spend the extra money for the interface, styling and durability. If you like using LR DC cartos, you want at least 3 amps. More would be better. With the exception of the Madvapes box, most VV capable of producing that will be more than $40.

So, make your choice. :)

What do you think of the Joyetech eGo Twist. I can get one for less than $30? Or should I get a VV Box.

I absolutely love that wood VV Bottom Feeder.

Don't have many options at the moment since I can only really work with $40! I don't have a job because I am my father's 24-hour caregiver.

On a side .note and completely off topic, I was farting around on Alibaba last night and saw and electronic cigarette slash phone & tablet charger. This thing was rated at 6600mAh . It uses USB male plug-ins with the connector on the other side, like the RCA to XXX adaptor modification we see around here. This thing looks almost like a smart phone, what a trip.

I don't own one but, for the money, the twist isn't bad as long as you aren't set on using LR DC cartos, it'll work. Just remember you need to get two. Here's a place you can get two for that price.

The Madvapes VV box is in your price range provided you have the batteries and charger but, it's a linear regulator which means the battery life isn't going to be that great.

As much as I've tried 'em, BFs truly sux fer me! In fact I have several sittin' here being ignored. Go VV, Twist prefered in your case, and don't look back...!!!

that's so funny since I would like to move from Twist to bottom feeder. :)

I guess the best thing to ask Salt&PePPer and what experience are you trying to create that you don't have on your ego?

For me, I like less equip between me and my juice. Squeeze some juice into an atty, vape. Just seems like the simplest thing to me. (Flipping it upside down isn't a big inconvenience once in a while to me).

Having so much "stuff" standing between me and my juice (carto filling, polycarb plastic tank materials, wicks made out of stuff who knows what, and all this "rebuildable" stuff to fiddle with........just isn't for me. :)

It IS nice to have a VV Twist however because you don't have to be so wedded to certain ohm equipment, you can dial in what you need on the Twist.

So Salt&PePPer, what is it that you want from your vaping experience and what is annoying you about your simple non VV ego batts? Is it charging batts, having the vape fall off, don't like vaping at lowered voltage, what?. NOt sure anyone can advise you otherwise, except to give their own preferences, which may not address yours. :)

That's sort of what I was getting at in my first post to this thread.

Salt&PePPer if you don't have batteries and a charger, and I get the impression you don't, with a $40 budget, you're pretty much stuck going to the twist for VV. If you get the batteries and charger from dealextreme, you might just be able to get an Old Goat bottom feeder. It'll be tight though. Expect it to take at least three weeks for anything from dealextreme to get to you.

Racehorse is right though. What are you trying to make better?

Thanks everybody for your words. Blood is thicker than water. I was only working as a contractor up in the Bay Area, albeit a contractor who made $30 an hour.

I was just wanting to take that next step in Vaping really. I had noticed when I left my batts in the car and came back out to drive they had warms up considerably and the Vapor it had produced was far more tastier - so I'm looking for a flavor enhancement I suppose with the VV. And with the bottom feeder when I see people using them they produce this HUGE Cloud of Vapor - which is also a plus.

But good point in bringing up needing a charger and batteries - I had not thought of that.

I will go for the Twist, now it's just finding a place to get a 900 for less than $20 so I can get two.

If you look at my previous posts, there's a link to discount vapor. You can get two there for that price. If you can come up with a little more for shipping, you can get the 900 MAH ones. That's what I'd recommend.

Thanks Rat. You must have been reading my mind since I was looking for the $19.99 900 mAh twist I saw the other day but could not remember where I saw them. Thanks again.

But I may be getting a Lava Tube at cost from a friend of mine who owns a simple B&M eCiggie shop in a small town.

Hey, I'm not a huge fan of the twist. A lavatube's not a bad alternative. You'll still need to get batts and a charger.
