Hello! I am new to this ecig thing and yet old hat at the same time. My father successfully quit smoking a couple of packs of cigarettes a day by using an ecig. He really is in to it, and I have watched him in the last couple of years breath easier, and be able to smell things better. His energy has gone up, and things that use to take a lot out of him don't seem to bother him as much anymore. I was surprised to find that I have a hard time smoking a cigarette in front of him now. He has only ever told me a couple of times that he wanted me to quit (and I have been smoking for a long time), and doesn't harass me about my habits of smoking.

I have a ecig, it's shaped like a box, and quite frankly all I can tell you is that I like it and I have no idea how it works. I know how to replace the battery and refill the liquid, but above and beyond that, I am clueless. I am also a grown adult, and I feel like I can't keep asking my Dad to help me with the basics if I am going to take ownership of smoking an ecig instead of Camels. So here I am.

I do not want to be clueless anymore. I don't want to smell like cigarettes anymore. But I darn sure want to have my nicotine. And as I have had the pleasure of watching my Dad breath better, I want the opportunity to do the same.

Wish me luck as I learn, and please don't laugh too hard as i ask asinine questions about how to do this right. I haven't fully quit smoking cigarettes now, I am just beginning my journey, but I look forward to getting to know more about it and those that have walked this road before me.....

Welcome! Your in the right place. Some take ahwlie to give up the analogs. Don't sweat it. If your like me you will soon enjoy not smelling like an ashtray.

Ask questions. You tube also has a ton of reviews and info. Be for warned.. If you like what you have keep it simple. Saves a bunch of money lol. The more I learn about vaping, the more I want to upgrade, by new, and vaper.. more vaper, vaper..... haha inside joke, someone might upload the video for you.

The only stupid question is an unasked one, if you ask my opinion. Welcome and congrats for finally jumping on board. Sounds like you've got some sort of box mod, though as Ocelot said, it'd be great if you could either find a pic of a similar device, or post a pic of yours. Assuming it's a commercial mod somebody here probably has one, and I build my own, as do others, so I'm pretty confident more than a few people can help with technical/how-to questions.

Welcome to the forum All4saab, I agree with the others....there are no stupid questions so ask away, there is always someone here to help.
I smoked and vaped for a couple of weeks before I gave the cigarettes up entirely. So as you asked..........I wish you luck on your vaping journey, (but I'm pretty sure you won't need it). Enjoy your vape :)

Welcome to ECF and congratulations on making the choice to quit smoking. Everyone here has had questions about various things & has gotten answers. That's how we learn more about things. Ask dad when you need to. I'm sure he'd be happy to share his knowledge with you. Enjoy your vaping journey. And of course,,,,,

What more do you need to know? The world is full of examples where everyday people operate devices - like cars! - without any real knowledge of how they work - beyond the need to put gas in them. They still manage to get from point A to point B (sometimes, usually).

Good luck in your journey.

Dad here, it's a VV box mod w/carto tank. Wanders away mumbling about can't teach kids anything.
That's funny raht thar, I don't care who ya are!
