I've had my Vapor King (which really should be called the Vapor Emperor, but I digress) since Wednesday and have not touched any tobacco product since. I'd already long since stopped smoking, but was still using oral and snuff tobaccos. Don't need 'em, don't want 'em anymore.

I have at least four pounds of smokeless and about 60 varieties of snuff. I'd hate to just pitch it all. Our friend Geoff over at Tasty Vapor has a liquid that he flavored by soaking tobacco in PG and then straining the liquid (I have some ordered but haven't gotten to try it yet)-- has anyone experimented with such an idea? Doesn't seem like it would be hard to do, but I'd be a little worried about winding up with a 6978mg/ml concentration or suchlike. That could be bad.

(Tasty Vapor's tobacco-flavored liquid, by the way, is coyly called "Tobacco," should anyone want to check it out. There's also a menthol variety.)

I feel your pain! FWIW, I gave away 2 pounds of RYO tobacco, 3 boxes of tubes, and my Top-O-Matic 2 days after my VK kit showed up. Also threw away 3 packs of cigarettes(but it felt good to do it) I don't know about soaking juice in tobacco for flavor but I kinda like the flavors as they come.... Maybe you could give it away to someone who wants it?

I don't know that vaping this type of juice is going to be a whole lot better for you than smoking as far as carcinogens are concerned, but I could be wrong. I think that if you strain tobacco soaked PG that you will still end up inhaling the carcinogens contained in the tobacco, whereas most other PG and VG liquids have nicotine in them that have been extracted from tobacco in a different way which eliminates the majority of other harmful chemicals contained in the tobacco. I could be wrong, but this is what I have gathered from what I have read.

Please post a review on the tasty vapor tobacco, when you receive it.
This sounds interesting. I read on the site that the tobacco does not have alot of vapor. If it tastes good,I can try to deal with it.

You could try searching the DIY e-juice threads. Tropical Bob has a good video on the snus although I haven't tried it. TB estimated the nic level to be a little over 7mg soaking 1 bag of snus in the pg (if I'm not mistaken-I watched the video several days ago).

That's funny Rimp!! :D

I had a co-worked who picked up her 510 about the same time that I did. The VERY FIRST NIGHT that she had the thing she boiled down her RYO tobacco and tried to make her own e-liquid.

She got herself good and sick and had to go to her doctor. Who knows what her derived nicotine content was.. or what other additives she had in her juice!

The net result is that she immediately went back to analogs and now does nothing but bad-mouth PV's. It's kinda sad.

I tried an experiment with this several months ago. I soaked 1 snus portion in about 1-2mls of water, then added VG to it. The taste was OK, no throat hit, and I have doubts that I got any nic from it. Overall I wouldn't recommend it, cause like you said, who knows what if any nic you are getting.

I make tinctures all the time out of herbs. I also have a ton of ryo tobacco. I won't be trying the soaking and making my own juice out of the tobacco because nic can be toxic and a poison at certain levels and the extract would not be standardized.

I don't have a problem doing this with most herbs because they are not inherently poison at their core base. So lack of standardization is not that worrisome for me with MOST of those. Though it would be great to be able to do it.

I've got a smoker in the family who rolls their own, am considering giving my stuff to them, but then I feel a little guilty knowing how harmful it is. They'll keep on buying tobacco anyway, though, just like I always did before.

nicotine is used as an insecticide/herbicide...you could use it for that, for your garden at least. I would not use it for personal consumption however, considering that billions of dollars have been spent in research to try to find a "safe" form of consumption and it will still kill you via cancer, COPD, and other diseases. I think that market/ideal pool may be tapped out.

Any essence ideal needs to be done with GREAT caution, liquids can go rancid VERY easily with concentrations/molds/bacterias which can be deadly...this is how many of the worlds poisons were discovered, much to the detriment of the "chemist"

please dont think that because we live in modern times, we are immune to the "oops" factor!

Yep I agree with Pugzley and AZVagabond! When you buy tobacco from tobacco companys ( as we all know) we don't know exactly what we are getting. It has been processed! and we all know they DO add additives and such! IF and this is a big IF I was going to this it would only be on tobacco I grew myself and even then I would be leary because who knows what toxins chemicals the ground and ground water may have in them! ONE of the majorly important things to remeber here is that these are products that we are inahiling! NONE of these products are being filtered by our body before they hit our system like when you eat! SO please I hope you decide to ERR on the side of caution. I know I definately wouldn't buy that or do that!

Thanks for all the thoughtful responses. Much as I hate the idea, I'm gonna pitch it all. I'll have to work up a bit of unsentimental firmness, I guess.

I don't even want this tobacco in the house anymore. Each day it sits there, I think about it. My bad! But it's just a temptation I do not need to have around here. Besides, it's taking up space I need for my vaping supplies. :)

There is something that I can't quite identify causing me to hang on to it, maybe it is something to do with sentiment. After all, tobacco has been my friend when everyone and everything else failed me at different times in the past, almost like telling a dear old friend to piss off. LOL Not quite, but you know what I mean.

I'll toss mine if you toss yours, AZ Andy. :)

It's a deal, Pugz. My job will have me driving all day today, so I'll keep a scowl on my face and think fierce thoughts and listen to Wagner. That way, I can build up the hard heart I will need. Tobacco has been a friend to me, too-- I even worked a tobacco harvest once on a friend's farm in southern Kentucky, just for the experience. Standing in the curing barn at the end of the week was a spiritual event. :)

Some of my snuff was hard to track down; that'll be the toughest.

I'll take pictures for proof. Perhaps that will provide you with motivation as well.

Thanks, that made me laugh. I'm probably too late now but I was wondering, if you don't know anyone to give it to, why not get rid of it on Craig's list? That way you could at least get some money for new vaping supplies.
