Hey there, I'm pretty new to vaping and to this forum, so I'm excited to be here. The first mod I built was a dna 30 and that was really fun and worked flawlessly. I used that for a little while, but I want a little more power. That led me to building a OKL-t20 in a G box. I have decent experience with hobby electronics and things of that matter, so I'm a little stumped with this one. So I basically have it all wired using "findmyvape's" schematic. I double checked everything and am positive its wired correctly. However, even with the pot turned down on the lowest setting it fires at around 7.1 volts. Obviously the range should be 3.5-5.5 volts, so I'm a little confused as to what is wrong. In addition, when I fire it, the 20k ohm resister on the chip gets very hot- definitely not a good sign. Has anyone else had issues like this before when using the OKL-t20 chip? Hopefully its something simple I'm overlooking. Thanks! - Sam

Thats a good thought. I checked just the pot and it reads correctly- 1k ohm. However, I then tested the pot with the 1.43k resistor in line with it, and it read the same-1k ohm. I'm assuming it should read 2.43k with that resistor right? It stills read 1k ohm, possibly a faulty resistor?did you verify proper function of the pot with a VOM?
Good news! I didn't have another 1.43k ohm resistor, so I just soldered a 1k and .5k ohm resistor together, to make a 1.5k and it works! However that 20k ohm resistor on the chip still gets really hot when I fire it? Should I be concerned with that? Maybe I'll swap that one out also.
Did you adjust the pot to see if it changed resistance? Maybe have the wrong leg in-line with the resistor
