Also i bread boarded the top diagram exactly except i used a 220 ohm and it works however it is always on . when i push the button it turns off . Why is it working backwards .Unless i got a normally closed push button .Hmm let me go check . Any ideas

Edit : yup turns out i was bb ing with a NC switch .Tried a different switch and its working right . I measured the current flowing through the switch and its right at 400ma at the most so my tact switch without modifying the original diagram will not work . This is a big problem because my aluminum tube mod has no room for a bigger switch . Not only that but it is already build with the tact switch epoxied in as well as being in a very tight spot . I have no other options but to use a tact . Any help is greatly appreciated . I doubt i can fit a mosfet either :( .

You almost got it. Need the switch to go to pin 1 and a direct line from the positive to pin 2. Also you may have to play with the resistor value.

Thanks ,so this looks better ?

I ended up pulling apart the cap of my mod again which houses everything . I pulled the tact out and by pushing the 510 connector up a little i was able to just fit a .5A switch . Before the 510 connector was flush but now it sticks out just a hair because i was able to put a trim ring around it on top to get a bit more flushness . Made for a little extra space in there . Should i do the on/off pin wiring anyway ?

Also need a quick answer . I have plenty of 5.1v zeners ,do you think its worth adding a low voltage cutoff with it just for added safety ?I know the 5.1 is a little low but it should be better than nothing right ? I also have a PTC fuse off the battery for short protection . If i should use the low voltage cutout ,i basically just need to run the zener with mark facing the switch and 10k resistor off pin 1 to gnd correct ? The way i see it is the switch should allow positve voltage to go through to pin one and when voltage is not high enough to pin just see's gnd via the 10k right .
