Hi People. 61 years old and have been smoking on and off for 40. At the moment sat here on an oil rig in Malaysia. (in shipyard) Recently visited the shopping mall and aquired a "Smokers Haven" Compact kit. Does anybody know what type and designation the batterys and cartomizers are? Had a look at their site, but no help at all. They are just interested in selling low nic. cartomizers. Already spent a bunch of cash with the local angent. I have enough empty carts to refill, but need to get a couple of compatable batteries.

Okay, having trouble getting info but go to the Malaysia forum here on ecf- they are a pretty nice group. They are saying it's not a good brand, but may be able to help since they seem familar with it. Good luck! Sorry I can't do more, phone doesn't like loadin too much!
36tinybells, thanks so much for your efforts. Being new it never crossed my mind to look for a Malaysian chapter of ecf!!! Yes looking around I realise now that the stuff I picked up, wasnt top of the range, but it was there so I did!!! Its serving its purpose, as my industry is getting rather hard core with regard to smoking, and the yearly medical is getting harder to muddle through!! Again thanks and I will head off to the Malaysian forum and see what they have to say.
hi old guy, dont know what kind your batteries are but chances are they are not universal with other brands. But the good news is you found ecf and you know you might have a shot at quiting the cigs.
How much are smokers heavens batteries? You may just want to ditch your kit and buy something else.
There are alot of afordable start up kits being sold on the enternet. Alot of people are in your shoes and bought a expensive kit their first time around me included. Good luck!

OK thanks for that. I have no illusions that the stuff I have is junk!!! The cost of the kit was around $100. pretty much complete with PCC, wall chargers and stuff. My problem is that I have had to buy lots and lots of prefilled cartomizors to get me through a couple of months at work. Cost me a fortune, but I am determined to stay off tobacco. I expect the batteries will eventually give up the ghost, leaving me with all these cartomizors. When I get back to Australia, I intend kitting out properly with the correct kit, however it would be good to be able to utilize these carts that I am accumulating. I still have another couple of weeks to go over here. I will give it another week and start placing orders, so the gear will be there for me to play with when I get home!!!

If you got a couple batteries and a pcc and a bunch of old cartimizers sounds like you just need a bottle of e liquid to refill your old cartimizers. Tip the higher the nic level of e liquid the less you will smoke in general, for me anyways. I know i quickly ran up a tab on prefilled cartos but you will find a hugh variety of different flavors and save a bunch when you start refilling your own.
Couch Magnet, hi again. Love that name, makes me feel right at home!!! Yes I agree, ejuice is the way to go, but due to my present location, its not an option for me right now. Here in Malaysia the whole concept of DIY is not yet mainstream. The main issue is that I need some reference point with regard to the battery connections, that will allow me to use the carts with other batterys. I have found a few sites that sell adapters, but without knowing thread types etc, its going to be a little hit and miss. Never mind its keeping me amused wondering about this stuff. I have found I can get a little more life from the carts by giving them a dose of almond food flavouring, which allows me to suck as much nicotine from the prefilled carts as possible!!!! Another little trick is to completly strip all the fluid from the carts. This I achive with the use of a small desk fan. Just tape the cartomizer to one of the blades, fit the silicone rubber condom, secure with a little tape, and turn on the fan!!! I am sure I will lose an eye one day, but its working for me!!! Have been getting half a condoms worth from each cart. Keeps me going for another half day!!!!

It would be easier to help determine which type of battery you have if you could post a picture of the threads. I used to have a great link that showed the different types of threads, but it looks like it's no longer available.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my plea for help!!! Not a lot to say about the batterys. They are the manual type, about 8mm diameter, with a male thread, which is undercut where the thread joins the battery. At the moment I have no way of posting an image as I have no camera available. To be honest I was hoping that all the batterys at the cheaper end of the scale were all generic, and rebadged for the companys that sell them?? Its not looking that way. Thanks for the link, very informative stuff, and certainly food for thought. Thanks again for taking the time to respond, and I will post back if I come up with anything usefull.

Robray, you'll need to get to know the folks in the Aussie forum to find out how they get their e-liquid, I understand it can't be sold but most have found ways of getting it. It's not DIY, you can order premixed in a BUNCH of different flavors.
Robray, just wanted to check in and see how you're doing and seeing how creative you are getting with the almond flavoring and the fan, I can see you are willing to do whatever you need to! You may want to pick up a foodgrade bottle of vegetable glycerin (from regular stores either by cake baking stuff or in the medicine area) and rotate that in with Almond - vg gives good vapor production, less so taste and throat hit. Please keep posting, dont leave us hanging. There is an Oz forum too, and some super nice people there. Good luck!
You may actually be on to something when mentioning they could be "generic". From what I was able to google, they look a lot like an M401, 402, or 403 series battery. They are also called a "super mini". It's hard to tell for sure from the image they gave.
Just want to emphasize that Australia has been cracking down on e-cigs and ejuice. Check out the Australia sub-forum for help.

Tomcat, yes already checked out the "taryn spin" method, but hard work for little return!! I tried it, before I thought of the fan. Its a small USB powered novelty thing that has been lying around my office for a while. As I said its not the safest procedure, but very efficient. If wanted to take the time, I am sure it would convert quite nicely to a useful centrifuge. It would be also useful for the people that wash their carts to help dry them.
