Okay so,
I have a friend 60 years old, now he had some heart attack preventing procedure, something that has to deal with veins cleanse to prevent thrombus.

The docs told him he cant smoke etc etc, lots of things.
He's been smoking for like 45 years, now he didn't smoke for like 2 months, he is saying he is going back to smoke again because he cannot live suffering with the feeling of wanting to smoke all the time. Right now he still tries not to smoke but soon enough he will start.

vaping is better than smoking, its a proven fact already, but ofc i don't want him to get heart attack coz of me. Should he start vaping instead of smoking or not?

He will start smoking again soon, so i thought maybe its better for him to vape instead?
Tell me what you people think, in case if we get him to vaping instead what juice should we do for him?

I really feel bad for your friend.

I'm surprised the doctor didn't address nicotine replacement therapy with him. Suggest to your friend to call or email the doctor and inquire about NRT and if vaping is an option.

I have Kaiser Permanente Insurance and I can email any of my doctors and they reply within 24 hours. Maybe your friend has this option too with his medical provider.

Please keep us informed and I wish your friend a speedy response from his doctor.

I was just like your friend in that I had to have a stint in the late 90s. Your friend made 2 months. I didn't even make 2 day's. Flash forward 10+ years and a couple more trips to the surgery for stints, along comes vaping. I had been vaping for about 6 months and had a bout of chest pains. Dr. said it was nothing to worry about, just needed to take a nitro pill to correct the arithmia. A couple months later, he elected to do a cath and he found a slight buildup in one stint but overall he said my heart was much better. He said it was healing itself. That was in early 2010. I go for checkups every 6 months, and have had no problems. Ultrasound showed no problems at all, and 2 stress tests (the most recent last month) showed absolutely no problems. The cardiologist shows me as a non smoker, and he stated my improvements are better than a lot of his patients that quit cold turkey. If your friend is going back to analogs then for sure try to get him switched to vaping regardless of what anyone says (including the Dr.).

I'm 75 with heart disease. What I can tell you is that had I not stopped smoking, I would be dead by now. As for how much longer vaping has/will give me .... I'll answer at a later date.
Well, I for one, am very glad you stopped smoking  and I hope the young man (OP) can talk the not really that old friend to vape instead of going back to smoking.

I'm 62 with four stents, all within the last seven months. My cardiologist was happier with me vaping than he was with my smoking. However, because my atherosclerosis is very aggressive, he told me after my last stent that I had to cut out the nicotine completely. I've done that (except, I admit, for one juice which has only 1.5 mg/ml nic). Vaping is definitely better for your lungs, but using any nicotine, especially at higher levels, will STILL cause vasoconstriction and can cause any arteries with a buildup of plaque to close off. All that being said, the best advice still is to consult the cardiologist.

Well im pretty sure the cardiologist knows nothing about vaping, but i know one thing for sure he is not allowed to smoke period. But he will >.>

Never say never. I use a major Chicago hospital outreach center right near my house, and I have vaped for no less than 3 DRs and Nurse Practitioners, and they all know that I have a bicuspid aortic valve with stenosis.

I told them I quit smoking and that I vaped and feel great. It's no lie for me. So they invited me to demonstrate the device. I vaped right in their offices.

My PCP, Dentist, and the cardiologist I saw support my vaping - BUT I don't have heart disease.
I would have a chat with the cardiologist before picking up vaping, although faced with a choice between vaping and smoking, I think I know what I would support if I was a health care professional.
