yes. Don't use polyfill

Use blue foam - much less likely to get a burning poly taste

510 - get precut blue foam stuffing from strictlyejuice.com
Anything smaller can cut down those tiny pieces
other - buy the bulk material and cut it yourself - it is Marineland Rite-Size U Bonded Foam Sleeve frim the aquarium dept of Petsmart.

And that above info is for actual CARTS aka Cartridges that are used on an atomizer. Not for cartomizers (cartomizers hold juice and have their own built in atomizer and screw right onto the battery) You cannot restuff cartomizers. if you are getting a burning taste from cartomizers then you are not using them right or not using a suitable juice or not keep them damp.

this is regarding KR808 cartos. there was a long thread a couple years back where people had taken theirs apart and found the polyfill was burnt. This was happening whether they tasted it or not. It was kind of controversial. Just wondering if the cartos have been improved to prevent this.

there are some pics in the thread I have linked in the OP

KR808 cartridges generally are cheap enough to just toss them when you get that burned taste and use a new one. They dont make those to last a long time. All cartridges and cartomizers are considered disposable and are meant to be thrown out after 1 or 2 uses but most of us get lucky and use our 510 cartomizers for a few weeks.

You can always kind of predict before you get that burned taste... the taste will change and you will get a little less vapor right before its about to go empty.

If you REALLY want to learn about the burning problems with cartomizers than check this thread out:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...us-510-kr808-4081-etc-filler-type-cartos.html

This is an ongoing thread from 2009 - the present. It covers all cartomizer technology and discusses which ones are better than others.

*I HIGHLY urge ALL newbies to check this thread out in order to gain a broader perspective about cartomizers

Your answer will be found in that thread.

well, if you read the original thread, there are people with burnt cartos that said they were very careful about keeping it wet and watching for that burnt taste, and they still had burnt fill. I guess I am curious(because the post is so old), has anything been done to fix this issue- like changing material or design so it does not happen. Have they even determined if vaping the fumes from the polyfill is dangerous? Has any testing been done? If not, it just seems odd to me that the suppliers would not care about the potential for liability IF there is a danger.

anyhow, I was thinking about trying one of these, do you think that would help? GotVapes VORTEX 2 808 BC Clearomizer - 1.2ml 2.4ohm 5PK

well, if you read the original thread...

Ooohkaaay... yes, I did read the original post. Did you read sln88's request for Cliff Notes? If ya don't know what Cliff Notes are... WELL...

If ya get burnt cartos while keeping the coils damp, then don't buy that type of carto!!!

what do you mean "suitable juice" ? I am really having an issue I really like the LR 510 cartomizers and i ordered some more from madvapes and i also ordered some juice from them. I ordered the Top Vapor and the two different flavors smell the same and I don't know if the HORRIBLE taste I am getting is from the new carto's or from the juice. All I know is that it is the most horrible taste. I am a relative newbie so any advice would help SO much.

no, I asked if you read the original thread(not post): All my used carto's are TOAST !! (that did not link but if you go to the 1st post here the link is there)

that was linked in the OP. Its like 30 pages long with pictures of the burnt cartos

what cartos would you suggest for a KR808 battery? would the clearomizers be better? as a newb, I am worried because of all the problems and putzing with them

I've been using the newer 808 cartos and haven't burnt one yet. There are several brands now but the only two I'm familiar with are Volt and Bloog. They're bottom horizontal coil and the fiber filler doesn't touch the coil. SteelJan did a review on Youtube of the Volt and made a large mockup of one to show how they're built but I'm not sure which video. I'm pretty sure the Halo and Smoov are the same type construction but not 100%. I use them a week or two and toss them just cause.

I guess I'm a noob but I've been vapin for 3 months or so and I've been using the marineland type U..It seems to hold up extremely well and give excellent consistent vapes on my joye 510.

I was a little hesitant to use it because it's blue(the dye in it)..I'm more afraid of the wick outgassing/burning than I am of the liquid.

It doesn't seem to burn like the regular filler has a tendency to and it holds up really well

I got a sheet at myPVshop for $1 or $2..not sure..when I first ordered and still have 90% of it left after 3 months..the stuff hold up and is perfect for carts

Please don't tell me i'm a dinosaur and tell me how great tanks and dripping is..ect,ect

I will one day switch from carts but for now..the marineland blue foam type U works amazingly well

If anyone knows any reasons why the blue foam is bad..PLEASE TELL ME!!!
