Oldest Joots You've Vaped?

Hi, everybody.

So after vaping exclusively for about a year and a half, I fell off the wagon and went back to mostly smoking for a while. Sorta got sick of unreliable hardware... then there were just so many products and sources out there that it put me off doing the research before I resupplied.

So anyhow, last tuesday I was buying some more MYO tobacco stuff and decided to buy a Blu variety pack. Maybe I got lucky, but I'm pretty satisfied with it for what it is. It still makes good vape after more than a week. Reduced smoking lots but lacks in the throat hit dept.

Over the weekend I got around to ordering a new eGo kit, some tanks and coils and joots. Got the hardware today, but it looks like it'll be another several days before my steam co joots arrives.

So to finally get to my Q then... what's the oldest joots yous guys have vaped before? I have some vapor bomb stuff from 2011 or so. You think it will be totally nasty or do you dare me to try it and see? Tanks with replaceable coils are new to me, but I guess I could just put one of the cheaper coils in the tank, and if it's awful worst case scenario I could toss the coil and rinse the tank, no? Really wanna try out the new rig, you see.

Thanks and soary for making a simple question into a too-big post. It's a bad habit that I have. One last thing I'd like to say is that though I did go back to the smokey side after 1.5 years of happy vaping, I personally found I didn't need to smoke nearly as much as I had before. I'd been about a smoke per hour smoker, but after vaping that probably dropped by more than half.

I tried it out for myself without any help from anyone, and my findings are that this old joots is no good. Or at least I didn't care for the vaping experience.

The joots smelled okay from the bottle. This is a 2011 cafe mocha 50/50 18mg. I don't think I cared for the flavor much 3-4 years ago when I ordered it, hence the nearly full 30ml bottle. When held up to the light, it seemed to be the right color and clarity. A solid white mass rests at the bottom of the bottle. It was undisturbed by vigorous shaking and squeezings.

I put a few mls into the clearomizer, mounted on an eGo 1100 and a 1.8ohm coil.

I didn't like this joots when it was new and I like it even less today. Just like my ..... of a wife

The taste is tolerable in very tiny doses, but the vapor has a lingering musky stench with a strong note of stale cat urine. Vapor production is no better than the Blu. Which needless to say is using a comparably tiny battery.

All in all I would rate the vaping experience 4 dog poops out of 5, and would recommend it to nobody.

well i haven't vaped long enough for my juice to get that old, the oldest i have is about 6months and that is still good, some is actually much better now than it was new.

Most on here seem to say that it is good for about a year, some things are good longer than that.

Thanks, firphly. Is your picture of Joan Jett? She intrigued me quite a bit when I was a young lad, back in the early 80s. She was so tuff and older and a bit masculine I guess but still I thought she was so pretty. Not the Belinda Carlyle type of pretty but more of a bad girl type, you see.

I had this fantasy where she would kidnap me and throw me into the sidecar of her harley and without getting too graphic, she'd make a man outta me if you get my driff.

Oldest I've had kicking around was two years-ish and it was ok. Couple things will happen though:

The nic will change color and flavor from oxidation over time. Your liquids will definitely darken, but you can't really predict how the change in flavor of the nic will impact overall flavor. "Cat pee" would not be out of the question after three+ years. Ask the folks in the DIY forum - some nic depending on the source gets really hasty as it ages.

Liquids with organic flavorings have a very short shelf life - most places say 90 days average.

I have quite a bit of Free State Vapor (organic flavored) that has not changed at all with age-any that have changed have actually gotten better.

Which ones changed for the worse for you?

and yes, I have FIVE YEAR OLD JUICE here and have indeed vaped it (including Vermont Vapor maple juice), and am still walkin the earth!!

Not the BEST idea in the world, kind of like eating that fruitcake from 1997...

I came across some juice that was a couple years old and decided to try it but it was pretty bad so I don't think I'll do that again!
