Just finished the lathe work on the body. Olivewood with a CA finish
Had to wait almost 2 months for the moisture content to drop low enough to work with.
Have to let the glue dry for a couple hours, then I will trim the bottom to adjust the standing angle.

Nice setup.
That piece mounted looks like a bit of a challenge to get balanced.

I have a vintage Beaver 3400 for spindle work and a modern Delta midi for smaller stuff. Saving my pennies for a Oneway some day.

I was trying to do a tube mod for a DNA20 last week.
Rolled and soldered my own brass battery tube. I epoxied it into a beautiful piece of Amboyna burl. I was almost finished turning it, closed end, when it blewout. Oh well. The good thing about woodturning is, the raw materials does grow on trees.

mre777, just go to your nearest woodworkers supply,(maybe community college etc), they will probably have safety and project classes for very reasonable prices. Say $20 for shop safety. They know that having the classes increases their bottom line. Also YouTube is a great source of info/ ideas.
One nice thing about a class, say penturning, is that you supply yourself. They supply all materials and equipment. You walk out with completed projects.
