OMG I got a button mashing HOOPLE started

My friend at work bought a tank one night and in the morning when he came to work it fell out of his pocket on the floor shattering it all over the place. He called me and asked if I could get him a used Reo, of course I said yes. I looked on the classies and found one for $150 I told him about it and he said yes get it for me. I got it a day late because my usual mailman was off that day and it was returned to the post office because the rookie didn't know it didn't have to be signed for. I built a 1 ohm coil for him wicked it with RXW. Everything was good to go I delivered it the next day he was a happy camper. All he's had to do for the next couple of months is dry burn, change juice, and batteries daily. So he comes to me yesterday morning and said Ray I've got a problem with my Reo can you take a look at it I said sure this is what I found.

How much of a lead thumb do you have to be to do this? I had a spare firing pin I got from another member made of stainless steel it should do him fine until he gets a new one to replace it with. I've never seen this happen so I just wanted to show it to my peeps here in the Ville. Morel of the story ...... Don't be a lead thumb.

Wow! I dunno... I guess if you were mashing it without a battery in there and no button cover its possible? I still think you gotta have some hulk hands for that though...

I've been know to mash the button on VTC5 batteries but I have a button cover so that stops me from going to far. I can feel when the battery moves. Almost looks like he was doing it with no battery installed.

Also since it was used the PO might have been one also and had already started weakening it.

I wont say you cant break one but in most cases yes there definitely a button masher .

The REO fire button is one of the easiest to activate. No gym membership required to operate.

Just had the same thing happen to my son's girlfriend's firing pin tonight. Had to resort to putting on one of the old style firing pins I had left over from one of my upgrades. I had been telling her not to mash the dang button! Going to need to some backup SO kits when the site is back up...

LOL have you ever raced go carts at a park .... Ya know the little 8hp jobs with 90 pounds of steel surrounding them ?? Every time I come off one of those my right leg is shaking from mashing that gas pedal ...... dam governors and throttle stops ...... I know that thing could rip around there at 30mph if I could just get it some more gas!

Heh - I have a scar on my elbow from rolling one of those. My wheels rolled over another guy's in a corner because we were both flat out and nothing happened when I tried to go faster (bloody governor... literally). I got 10 free laps, a story, and a date out of it.
