Starting with a couple quotes from my best friend:

"The old fart is so tight, he squeaks when he walks" :glare:
"Come off some of that moldy money"

Sound like you? and your wanting to get into the world of e-cigs on a tight budget?
Here's what I ended up doing after weeks of reading the forums and "window shopping" around the net.

I started exactly 6 months ago today when I was sick and the doctor told me I wasn't going to get better if I didn't give up the cigarettes. I started with a Nicotek / Metro Kit from Smoker Friendly and set the "stinky's" aside the next day. Still keep the leftovers as a reminder and as, well think Linus and security blanket.

Five months later and not a single cigarette, I got to thinking. Man, a 3 park of cartridges for $ 9.99 (squeak), there's gotta be something cheaper (squeak).

So I turn to my friend Google for advise. And every question I asked was answered with e-cigarette forum has the answer to that.

I came and I read, and I read some more and I took notes and I searched some more for the cheap answer (squeak).

Came to the conclusion that the cheapest thing going was the 808D-1 setup. And I could clean and refill the cartomizers making it really cheap. Off I went to Google again to search for 808 starter kits. Lots and lots of them out there in a wide range of prices but short of buying direct from China, the cheapest I could find was right here in Ohio at a place called (and I hope I don't get my fingers smaked for typing this) Tropical Vapors. For $22.99 I got 2 batteries, a usb charger, a wall charger and 6 filled cartomizers and it came in a nice little box. At that price I wondered about the quality, so I ordered 2 so as to have a backup if something were to fail.

Then came the dreaded "vapemail" wait that I read about on here.. Suprise! Tom at Tropical Vapors had the kits packed and in the mail same day and in my mailbox next day. As Silas on Duck Dynasty would say - "HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY" That was one month ago and the kit I opened has served me well. (squeak)

Next thing up was the cartomizers - clean, refill, reuse and repeat. Drat, burned 2 of them squeezing every last drop out of them. Back to Google which leads me back to here. Ah-ha, clearomizer.. can see when it's time to refill and no more burning them up. So begins the next quest for a bargain. Toss up between Nano from Smokeless Image for $ 1.99 each if you buy 10 or the Kanger T4 from litecigusa for $ 2.25 each. Hmmm.. am I going to like them well enough to commit to a 10 pack for the cheap price or a few of the T4's. Ordered 4 of the T4's and some 3 10ml bottles of liquid. Bang, litecigusa had it in my mailbox 2 days later. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY again.

Vape, read, vape, read and a new quest. The clearomizers were great, the 808's were great and it was only costing me 42.5 cents to refill them or a little over 85 cents a day. The 2 batteries lasted all day most days and with one one the cahrger and one in use, there was never a time I didn't have my nicotine fix.

But can it get cheaper? You betcha it can!

Back to these forums and read some more.. this time it's about do-it-yourself (aka DIY).. Reading along and one of the gentlemen mentioned his first mix as Good-n-Plenty.. Hey I remember them things.. loved them as a kid! Got a craving going on and a need to feed it. shop, shop and shop some more..

Am I going to like DIY? How far to commit to find out? Decided to stay small and give it a try. Small (6ml) bottles of flavoring at only $ 1.65 each X 3 for the flavors I needed to make my good-n-plenty. Plus 7 more bottles of flavors that sounded good and empty dropper bottles at 40 cents each being the cheapest from onestopdiyshop. There nicotine and PG / VG is a bit pricey so passed on that. Got my order 2 days later plus a little bag of freebies that she threw in.

For nicotine, PG and VG cheapest would be wizard labs but always out of stock on the nicotine. Next cheapest was a toss up between RTSVapes and my freedomsmokes. RTS won first round by offering small bottles of PG and VG. Ordered 60ml of each and was here 2 days later. Mix and try and it's good.. I'm now hooked because I like it and I cut my cost by 75% over premade liquid. RTS will be my recommendation for your first time because you can start small to be sure you like it.

Need more.. more flavors and already running low on nicotine and PG.. myfreedomsmokes got my order yesterday and will be here tomorrow. Sorry RTS but he beat you out on prices for the larger quantities and cheaper shipping too..

So, bottom line if you are looking to get in cheap to try it out:

Tropical Vapors for the 808D-1 Kit $29.99 plus $5.00 shipping (or order 2 like I did and he pays shipping)
Litecigusa for the clearomizers 5 of them for $11.25 plus $5.00 shipping and order you a couple / few bottles of fluid to get you started (shipping stays the same).

If you want to try DIY -

RTSVapes for your nicotine, PG and VG in small quantity. Shipping is $7.95
Onestopdiyshop for flavors and empty bottles. Shipping is $5.00
Myfreedomsmokes for nicotine, PG and VG in larger quanities. $5.95 shipping
Tractor Supply for syringes at 21 cents each.. also CVS, WalMart or Walgreens will sell them without the needles.

There you have it.. Best prices I can find east of the Mississippi..
For you far left coasters, have a look at MtBaker and above all else read, read and read some more. There's a wealth of information and some great people here at e-cigarette-forum and if you are new, Welcome to your goto place to learn
