generally speaking copper mods use the body as the ground (spring in end cap for neg term, body acts as path to the body of the connector at the top) then a spacer is used to hold a bolt/screw for the positive connection and isolate it from the body of the tube, wire from screw to switch, wire from switch to center pin on connector. You can put the switch anywhere you can fit it.

Ifyou're tryin to make an all mechanical version it's a lil more difficult internally but not that bad. There are a number of great guides here and on breaktru's site.
