One battery shows short, another battery is fine

I have to post this here since i'm a new member, maybe a mod can move it to the appropriate forum.

I have a sigelei Zmax Telescopic, which I've been using for around 9 months. Today, my zmax suddenly reported a short. I've had this happen before with atomiser heads, and since I'd just put a new one in I swapped it out for another. This didn't solve it. I then tried my other battery, which works fine with both atomiser heads. So one battery works fine, the other reports short, but only when an atomiser is connected. Is there anything I can do to fix this? or do I need to replace the battery?

Battery construction varies greatly. Some have circuits, that can fail, built in to protect you in case of improper use. Manufacturers can do all sorts of things internally with how they build them. Companies spend millions of dollars figuring out what chemicals to use and how to use them.

The computer in the zmax decided something was wrong and reported a short. I don' know under what circumstances the zmax reports a short.

Bottom line is that if a battery does something strange, like report a shot in a mod, I throw it out and get another one.
