A one-pound disposable ecig is now available in the UK. (Starter kits of rechargeables will be available for 5 pounds.) As the blog post points out, the low (and reasonable) price could make this a vaping industry game-changer (if the product isn't totally disgusting).

I'd love to see a review by one of our intrepid members from the UK. Anyone care to volunteer?

Your lungs, pocketbook, and peace of mind are safe for another day, Orb; you are relieved of volunteer duty on this one.

Actually I'm a bit red-faced, because having discovered the delightful redhead a few weeks ago, I've been checking her blog fairly regularly but somehow missed her review of the 1 pound cig-a-like. Here's her conclusion, with points worth thinking about, for those who don't want to follow the link (though I recommend reading her simply because she expresses herself so beautifully!):

This isn’t a good product. In fact it’s almost Jeremy Mean’s wet dream. Inconsistent manufacturing, poor efficacy, and marketed to saturation point at pocket money prices. Obviously for £1 it would be very unrealistic to expect much. But from my experience with the four samples I have tried, you’re getting nothing at all worth mentioning.

This is my opinion and my opinion only: this is an irresponsible, poorly conceived, bandwagon jumping product. I may even get into trouble for saying that. I don’t care.

The worst thing of all? This is exactly the kind of made by the lowest bidder device that is beloved of government departments. We could be seeing a very bleak vision of a medicinalised future here. And that makes it even more important that we do everything we can to stop that from happening.

Vape happy (on a good device)! :vapor:

Someone in the fastTech thread in the UK section of the forum has a friend who has got a load of these ones in transit.

$4.34 USB Rechargeable 180mAh Electronic Cigarette with 10 Cartridge Refills - marlboro flavor / medium at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$1.36 Electronic Cigarette Cartridge Refills (10-Piece Pack) - marlboro flavor / medium at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

They make £1 for a single disposable look positively extortionate.

A rechargeable battery, charger and 10 refills for £3. And then 10 refills for £0.80, that's £0.08 each.
