This is why I use cartos mostly. If the one I am using starts to go bad I can just pitch it and open up a new one and at $8 for a pack of 6 cartos with each one lasting about a week (5-7 refills) there is little to no regret for me having to throw one away. Plus there are all the other benefits of cartos to look at too, but those are in a different thread somewhere I think.

That's exactly what I do with my 510s cliff.

Every couple of days I'll just do a dry burn, hold the button and count to 20 fast and let off, I do it 3 times in a row and then give it a minute to cool down and drip on it again.

Usually get a noticeable difference in the way it is performing and have yet to kill an atty.

Color me stupid but I just found today I can resurrect an atty by doing a short dry burn using one of my manual batts. Always use automatics and just recently picked up a couple of manual 401s. Just today I brought back a few attys I had pretty much written off.

this works really well, I have attys that died months ago, that are about a year old. I finally got a manual battery and after doing some dry burns with them, they perform like new!

Since i'm a dripper, my attys get a lot of abuse from many different types of juice, so they get gunked up rather fast. After blowing them out into a paper towel, then doing a dry burn on them, they always end up fantastic.
