I'm one week on vaping only! The week and a half before that I only had a pack of smokes, down from a PAD! Maybe nothing to write home about for many of the long timers here, but it's a big deal to me and I want to stick with it so I thought I'd share.
I've been vaping off and on for almost two years, and have given up smoking for short stints of a few days. Over the winter I would always vape more to avoid the cold outside. When summer came I would always go back to analogs, in part because carrying a mod, some juice, atty, syringe, carts, etc. was cumbersome without a jacket to put it all in. That and when drinking always got me. Well this time I think I'm in for good.
The past two weeks I've been dripping mostly due to frustration with carts and tank carts, but a couple days ago I got a tank carto setup and am loving it. It has addressed the problems with cart wicking, burnt filler, dripping and driving, messy juice spills, etc. I can go two days on my SB with LR carto and 5.5 ml tank so no worries or stress even if I miss a nightly refill and battery charge.
I haven't been having cravings and flat out prefer to vape instead of smoking. The real test was the other night going out with friends (who smoke) for beer and wings. Even with a full gut and inhibitions inhibited I only had a slight desire for an analog after, which was gone as soon as I started vaping.
I'm enjoying a better sense of smell and feel like I can take deeper breaths. If this is just after a week I can't wait to see what it's like after my body has had more time to heal! If all else fails, I just remind myself of the monetary savings. I've saved about $125 on cigarettes already, probably almost twice that if you consider I haven't been in a convenience store since I bought my last pack so saved on junk food and drinks. I think this time I'll stick with it.
