I never thought that I would quit smoking. I tried vaping back in early 2012 but it just made me want to smoke more. I decided to give it another go last May, and despite a really rough first day getting used to how the nicotine ramp worked vs. analogs, and on 36mg at that, and dealing with a bunch of idiocy at work, after around 2 PM I realized that my craving for an analog was totally gone - a first in 17 years for me.

Somewhere around 8 months ago, after coming to this forum and seeing all the Reo love, I decided to give the Reo a try. I wasn't thrilled with the aesthetic at first, but I was drawn by the idea of dripping flavor with a huge bottle of juice and a big battery - perfect for someone who doesn't have the time during the day to fiddle with gear. I wanted reliable, rock solid performance. And that's what the Reo brought me. I bought a second Grand and topped both with RM2s, learned how to build Russ' micro coils with the help of his amazing videos, and sold all of the rest of my vaping gear.

The look of the Grand grew on me due in part that it has some of the most perfect ergonomics of any piece of gear - vaping related or not - that I have ever used. It, as they say, "just works". Despite being a tinkerer, I never thought that I would be a rebuildable guy because I REALLY hate leaking and almost all RBA based systems are inherently leaky if they are no upright at all times. Because of the draining aspect of the Reo / RM2, I rarely ever have any leaking in my pocket, and that's usually due to my own coil build / over squonking.

So I have gone from 1-2 packs of evil Newports to chain vaping 36mg out of a carto tank (which makes me ill just thinking about it) on a Provari to vaping 9mg out of a pair of Reos and could not be happier. I will pick up a LP SL Grand at some point because they just look amazing and I want to mess with an all SS atty at some point again - had a Chalice and sold it.

I didn't start vaping to be a part of a community or to have the prettiest / latest gear. I wanted to quit smoking. This sub forum is really the only part of the ECF that I read at this point, and you guys and gals are a great group of very supportive people. I kind of see it as the place for grow ups who are done chasing stupid-expensive gear in lieu of using gear that works perfectly almost all of the time, while still being a place that pushes this near perfect device to new heights and innovating how everybody both here in Reoville and elsewhere pushes the envelope of the perfect vape - I'm looking at you, Russ and Mr. Munday.

Sorry for for the wall of text. Just wanted to say thanks to Rob for inventing the best device for me, and Reoville for being the most supportive group of vapers out there.

TL;DR I'm one year smoke-free thanks to the Reo Grand and Reoville.

To to another year smoke free!

Congratulations on 1 year! I just passed my 9 month.....almost there!

I agree with your comment regarding this particular forum. Once I came to REOville, I felt as if I had found a group of adults that knew what they were doing, knew what they wanted and have been so helpful. The other forum groups remind me of high school. A bunch of juveniles showing off.

Cheers to you and many more years to come! :toast:

Congratulations. That is fantastic. I am new to reo's but I can't imagine vaping getting any better. You should be very proud of yourself and quite a inspiration to others. I am finding that you are right about "reo people". They are just wonderful. Happy vaping to you and your continued success.

Rat2chat2, I love your new avatar! Perfect.

Christian, bro one year is a serious milestone. Congrats my man :)

You have made some great contributions up in here and it's definitely time for another video of you rocking your gear bro.

I'm real glad that you found my stuff useful and yes we run some very similar setups. They just plain kick AYuss.

Congrats on this epic accomplishment, thank you for the props and drop by more often :)
