Hi everyone. I need opinions on which pv to get. I have a Blu that I have been using for about a week and a half and it's not cutting it. (not to say that the Blu is a bad product.) it has helped me go from 1 1/2 packs of Marlb Reds a day down to 2-3 analogs per day. But, I want to quit completely. Also, I want much more from my pv than the Blu is capable of. I have narrowed it down to a 3-4 kits but the two that are at the top of my list are the 510 with LR attys and at least a 24mg juice.

The second device that I'm torn between is is using the Ego with LR attys. Based on my research done on this forum, I've concluded that about the only downside to the 510 is the battery. (Short life and not enough 'Mah" to really get the LR attys going) And, the short battery life will be even worse using LR attys. But, with the Ego, that wouldn't be a problem, right. But my concern about the Ego is the size of the unit itself. I know it's bigger than the 510 but from the reviews that I've watched (grimmgreen) I wouldn't have to carry a PCC or even a spare battery in most cases. I would have to carry both of these things if I were to decide on a 510.

Anyway, opinions and why you feel the way you do would be much appreciated! Thanks -Trey

You will get much more battery life out of the eGo, but I would recommend having a spare battery. The eGo chargers are quick, but with only one battery you would still be without a vape for a couple of hours. Also, batteries eventually fail completely, so having one could mean days without a vape.

As for size, the eGo is about 15mm wide compared to the 10mm of the 510 and I would say has a comparable weight gain. Not cumbersome by any means. Think of one of those thick heavy ballpoint pens and you have a pretty good estimate.

I had a blu, and just moved up to a riva (ego type) from eastmall. I love it! the battery lasts me 4-6 hours chainvaping, and the flavor is sooooooo much better.

4-6 hrs on one batt is pretty good. Are you using stock attys or LR?

I recently got an eGo from "Cignot" and am very pleased with it. It is my first e-cig so I have nothing else to compare it to ....... well, except for analogs.

*lifts chin up for clarity

I can honestly say that my eGo is much better than a real cigarette.

hope that helps ..... : )

It does help. Thanks.

The kit that I'm looking at comes with two batteries so I'll be ok there. I may get a third for a spare, also.

Do you guys carry these with you when you're out all day? Are they small enough for that? Also, what about carts? how long do they last in terms of puffs? (I suppose) Are there other carts that I can get thatll hold more juice-last longer? I ask that cause I don't want to constantly have to be dripping.

I typically wear hoodies at work (cold server room), and comfortably carry an eGo and usually two bottles of juice in one of the pockets all day. I keep a "kit" in the car with spare batteries, spare attys, charger, more juice, etc.

It also fits nicely in a shirt pocket, although until the "button ring clip" comes out from Janty I would not keep it in pants pockets due to the likelihood of prolonged unintentional button-pushing. :) It's really not that big or bulky at all.

As to how many puffs, that's subjective... but my guess would be... ummm... a couple hundred before the battery goes out. After the initial couple weeks, they seem to have stabilized for about 4 - 6 hours for me - YMMV, of course. I bought a third spare (neat rubberized coating), and will get a few more for when the originals die.

I've gone to 100% dripping, and find it very convenient with a Super-T drip tip. Realize that a standard 3-drop dripping load in a 510 will last you about as many "puffs" as, say, an analog and a half - so it's a good "cigarette break" amount, even with a LR atty (totally the way to go, by the way... produces about twice the vapor as a standard 510)

My first e-cig was a Smoke Stix sp? and I was dissappointed. Then i purchased the TW tornado and was highly impressed but the button on the side was not to my liking. Soooo I got the Silver Bullet from Altsmoke and havent looked back. Really like vaping at 6v too.

I've been looking at the Silver Bullet for my "at home pv" but i think it's too big to carry around with me at work. I know I'd end up dropping it or breaking it or something bad like that. It is a kickass unit though and I want a 6v pv for home but that'll be next. :2cool:

I work on the railroad and it has taken many many spills to the rocks and is none the worse for wear. I really wouldn't worry about breaking it. The Ego/tornado is a also a fine PV is you can get past the button.

Wow! a LR atty will yield approx TWICE as much vapor?? That's a big difference! And I didn't know that 3 drops would go that far. The kit that I was looking at ( Nhaler.com) would include a drip tip. Hmmm. Thanks for the input. I'm pretty excited! My uncle has been reading with me. He has a 510 that should be here tomorrow and he's already talking about getting an Ego/Riva also. LOL I'm trying to talk him into getting a big 6v something instead so i can try it! ;-)

Another alternative is to go with a battery mod. I have a Little Chuck which is 3.7v and uses a protected 18350 (available at Mad Vapes - 1,2000 mAh) or a 16340 (I have AW LiMNs which are even safer than protected batts but are only 550mAh) Even the 550mAh last much longer than stock batts.

If your main concern is battery life, look for one that takes an 18650 batt (2,000 mAh or higher.)

If what you want is more throat hit and vapor, consider a mod that will do 5v or higher. A lot of them can do both 3.7 and 5 or 6 depending on which batteries you use.

While they might seem expensive at first, the mod itself is a one-time purchase. There are a lot of good ones available for under $100 (the Chuck, for example, is $75)and the batteries mostly cost <$10 each. When the battery stops taking a charger, you buy a new battery, not a new Chuck.

All Mods
By Battery Size
I'm not sure if ViZi is still updating those two as he's created an e-Cig Mods Database but he doesn't have the "by battery size" there yet.

All Mods...QUOTE]

Yeah I've kinda started looking at batt mods but am still a real noob and dont know enough about it to spend any money. I'll get there with a little experience, though. Question: the page that you "All Mods" link takes you too shows an Ego and it says that it has a "custom 650 Mah battery". What is custom about that? What is the Mah on the stock battery? :?:

That kit from Nhaler will have you dripping in no time. I didn't think I'd like dripping, but the drip tip on the LR atty that Drew includes will blow your mind.

I know...It won't surprise me if I do the same thing. I've watched so many reviews where the guy was dripping and I know it only takes just a second with drip tip (which I'll have) so I'll probably fall right in to it like everyone else. :vapor:
