I walk into Walmart and I see a Christmas tree put up before it's even Halloween. It seems as though Christmas is just a retail holiday that lasts for 3 months or more. I like to keep the spirit of the holidays, but I don't like seeing Christmas over-used and over-hyped.

I'm basically done before Thanksgiving because I shop all year long. A little before Halloween until after New Years, I avoid the stores. WalMart is probably the exception because I go there for things I can't find at my other regulars and it's usually a madhouse. When I go after Xmas, I check out the 50% off stuff.

Mines Dec. 16th. As a kid, the month was shared with two brothers. Since there was nine of us, there was only one party.
Bless RW's little heart, he always made it a special day for me.
I hope the special one in your life does the same thing.

I can totally relate. My birthday is on Dec 16th too! I have 4 family members b-days within 2 weeks at Christmas time.

My son's b-day is on Thankgiving this year my husbands is on Dec. 20th my youngest daughter's is on Dec. 21st mine is on Jan 4th then there is my oldest who is lucky enough to have a b-day on a holiday where you don't get jipped on presents....flag day lol

I wouldn't think so.
If I were the recipient, I would have no problem with a gift card.
Even if you feel like it's too impersonal, add candy or something to the package to spice it up.

I think GC are awesome that way the sender doesnt feel bad about sending something the person doesnt want and the buyer has many many options as to what they want to buy but thats me I'm a guy lol when in doubt get a gift card
