Guys I know the provari is probably the highest quality of all the vv models. It speaks for itself. I was looking at the Starfire VV. I guess what I am asking is this. I have never known anyone that had one. Does anyone know of people that have had these things for a long time with no problems. I mean they just replace batteries and just keep on vaping.

The ones ecig Charleston are selling are a new flavor that has only been out a couple weeks. Looks cool and a great price but no drip well, and just a flat standard 510 connection. OTOH, I've had one of these for about a week, and am REALLY liking it for just a couple bucks more.

Crystal Clear Vaping

This unit has just been out a short time also, but has a super deep drip well, full ego compatibility, and it's shiny chrome. Also free shipping, and if I'm not mistaken they throw in a free 18650 bat. Both this and ecig Charleston seem like good deals. But I will say, I'm sure the chrome unit is made by Young June, I'm not sure who's making the Starfire. Don't see it on Young June's site, and I'm pretty sure Uniq didn't make it either. The only thing I know is it isn't made by L Rider. But it has gotten good initial reviews.

Hope this helps.

The Starfire VVs that jfoster is considering from ecigcharleston are, in fact, rebranded Young-June v1.5t Vtubes (not from Knight-Rider, despite what the description says). That version has been available for quite some time from numerous other sellers (vaporbeast, ivape, etc.) under different rebranded names (Vector Variable Volt, Varitube X, etc.), and for roughly the same price.

The device that hificat mentioned from crystalclearvaping is the new version from Young-June---the Chrome v2.0---which has an increased 3.9 amp limit, an eGo-style top connector, and a much heavier triple-chrome-plating-over-brass body (loaded with a battery, the Chrome v2.0 weighs in at a whopping 5.2 ounces, versus the v1.5t's more nimble 3.3 ounces).

The earlier v1.5t's suffered from the 5-click power-off zombie-low-voltage-mode glitch, where the unit would still fire at low voltage after supposedly having been powered down. Young-June has fixed that glitch in the v2.0 and current production runs of the v1.5t, so the Starfire VV's may not have it, but the Chrome v2.0 definitely doesn't. I know for sure, because I own both versions, and my newer Chrome v2.0 does indeed power down properly and truly shut off.

Finally, the buttons (actually, switch covers) on the v1.5t rattle a bit when you shake the unit, whereas the Chrome v2.0 buttons are rock-solid and silent even when shaken. The buttons on the v1.5t work fine, so no worries, but Young-June did something to tighten up the production specs of the v2.0---either the buttons are attached to the switches or the mounting holes are more precisely machined---which is a good sign that Young-June is paying attention and improving/refining their Vtubes with each successive version.

I like both versions. I appreciate the heavy solidness of the shiny Chrome v2.0, but I also like the light weight and finish feel of my black v1.5t Vtubes. Both provide a satisfying vape, although the v2.0 has more 1/4 more power and provides greater headroom for low-resistance 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos, which I no longer use anyway.

I can't edit my post anymore, so I'm replying to it to add this addendum:

Note: Testing is not confirming the 3.9 amp limit on the Young-June Chrome v2.0. Looks to be the same as the earlier v1.5 and v1.5t---3.2 amps. Sorry to have passed on what now appears to be bogus information.
