Can't post in new member forum anymore and the post I made yesterday for the Vet forum hasn't been approved/answered yet. I'm moving soon, money is a concern, and I want to have my ecig supplies ready for the move and stocked up enough for the next couple of months.

I have 3 Mega 510 batteries and 3 atomizers, going on 4 months old. They all work, but I don't believe the atomizers are working as well as new and since the batteries are heavily used, I imagine they are nearing the end of the average 510 battery lifespan.

I was going to order 2 new atomizers just in case, but don't want to have to order new batteries soon and pay more shipping. Plus the separate parts seem to be more expensive than the kits.

Do you think it would be more cost effective for me to order a new kit? I found an Ego kit at Liberty Flights for $40, there's also a Riva 510 "lite" kit for $30. Both come with 2 batteries and 2 atomizers. Since the atomizers are compatible, I could also continue to use them with my current 510 batteries until they die. Plus I would have two fresh, longer-life batteries. And my old atomizers as back up.

How likely is it that my current batteries will keep working for 2-3 more months? I read on the website I ordered them from that the avg battery lifespan is 3 months. I'm past that. Is it true? I realize no one can guarantee how long they will last, just wondering about people's personal experience with Joye products.

I don't want to spend money if I don't have to, but don't want to get stuck having to order parts in the next few weeks, either.

I would get the Riva set- Honestly, I would get it and then like you said, you get new batts AND new attomizers, AND you are spending about the same amount of money you would to get 2 new atties and a new batt with shipping thrown in. PLUS, you get a new charger and I have actually had those quit working on me- sucks to have a half dozen batteries, but not be able to charge the dang things!! JSUT remmeber a RIva battery will NOT charge on a 510 and a 510 will NOT charge on a RIVA charger- BUT- the Riva will last 3-4 times longer per charge than the 510 slim.

i don't know why they'd claim the batteries only last that long. i am sure there are folks using batteries around the year mark. I am pleasantly suprised you have the same attys running after 4 months. you can pick up a five pack of em attys at liberty flights less than 20 bucks. but heck, a nice shiny new kit is always a winner!:)

Thanks all. @tybin - I'm surprised these atties have lasted as long as well considering I'm still a PV newbie. I drip most of the time and keep them wet. I don't soak them in alcohol or dry burn them, though I did do the alcohol soak once. I'll probably be more willing to experiment with all these various methods I see people post once I have more spares. One more question : If down the line I decide to try out LR atties, is 750 mah enough or is there a good chance I'll damage the batteries? I see some places say 650 mah or higher for LR, others have said that Riva/Ego batteries can still be damaged. Either way I've decided to buy the Riva kit.

I must not be the norm, but I purchased my 510 in July of 09 and all the batteries and attys are still working. I charge them regularly on my 5-battery charger and my attys are cleaned about once a month by soaking them in rubbing alcohol or vodka if I'm out and then thoroughly dried.

I don't use them any longer only because I changed to the mega atty/battery about a year later and then just now upgraded to the tank system. I also have a torpedo that I use with the mega attys. I've had one battery go out after 9 or so months and one battery had the little plastic cover on the LED light fall off and get lost. But again, it still works! LOL

I really feel if you take care of your equipment--it'll take care of you! ;)

I'm wondering that myself mine have a 1yr warranty on them. As far as attys go you can get a couple attys from madvapes for about 13.00 plus shipping...BUT. The ego is a better unit you could buy it and keep your 510 batteries for emergencies because they have the same threading. Just remember not to use the old 510 batts with any LR equipimnet.

I would order the Riva deluxe kit from LF PLUS at least a couple of spare attys.

My first set of Ego Batts lasted 8 months before I noticed a drop in performance and longer charging time required. But you never know, they could have dropped dead at any time.

The vaper's mantra "Always have spares for everything". And then get some back-ups for the spares, LOL.

+1 on the riva it is a true 3.7volt device another option is the e-power from SMOKtech ya might wanna check that out

liberty-flights only rates the riva 510 at 3.3? and i know my 901 model isn't 3.7 because when i put the same carto or an atty on one of my old kr8 batteries theres a huge difference in vapor production

no cleaning attys will last longer if u just blow out them out with ur mouth good advice tybin Doctor Vapor told me not to clean them that they will die sooner Hes been a vaper for years and tried every cleaning method out there!
And you'll get a lot of vapors that have been vaping for years that will tell you that's completely false.

Unless something has changed recently that I am not aware of, only the SE version of the Riva is a true 3.7v device.
