I keep going back and forth and can't decide which one I'm going to try and get for my next mod.

Poldiac, Nemesis, or try and get the new GP PAPS X.

If you could get one of these which would it be and why? Or is there another option I'm not thinking of?

Ideally I'd like to be able to use different size batteries and adjustable airflow is awesome.

Short version:

Paps X is 23mm, and I don't like it's airflow control. I wouldn't buy it over a normal Paps. And the Paps switch throw is too short for me...it almost feels like a touch sensor. It's phenomenal if you like that and a great mod. But, it's not for me.

The Poldiac switch is too complicated for its own good, and MMV wanted me to pay shipping both ways to replace a basically defective top cap. I would not do business with them again, but after I essentially re-tapped the 510 connection, it did work. It's a pain to clean and has more telescoping sections than a lot of mods, which means there's also more that you have to clean. I traded it for a Reo Grande and BF ERA, and I haven't missed it one little bit even though that atty sucks. I think I lost the ERA, so I essentially traded it for a readily-available $144 mod. I don't care.

The Nemesis....I can't find a flaw in mine except that the machining isn't quite as good as the Caravela and the engravings on the brass one are supposedly pretty shallow. I think It's gorgeous. It's button is the best solution for battery rattle in a no-spring mechanical. It'll take any normal battery configuration with or without a kick. There are a few different finishes to suit a lot of people's desires. The button throw is light, smooth, and relativley short while still actually moving. There are a lot of little bits & pieces to customize it if you want to. It looks great with my 2 favorite atties (fatty v2 and omega). It's probably about to become the 4th device ever that I've bought more than one of. The other 3 were cigalikes (for battery life), ego Twists (for battery life), and Reos (because they're my desert island vape).

There are a lot of other options, though. Lots of people are obsessed with the Chi You. I definitely like my Turtle Ship. There's a veritable pile of Pionoy mods that work well. The atmizoo stuff is supposed to be awesome if you like side buttons. GGs still exist.

What are you looking for?

I've got 2 GGTS, and a P+.. I love my GG's but wanted to try something new..

I've been leaning towards the Nemesis, because I'd like to Kick whichever one I get and I like the idea of being able to use an 18650 + Kick without any issues.

I'll have to do some more research =)

I believe you can use 18650+kick in the Nzonic V3. That's pretty different than what you have.

I haven't done it because I don't want to run an 18650 or a kick, but I'm almost certain you can run 18650+Kick in the Nemesis.

linkagge, would you mind sharing your results? I'm trying to do the same research myself and have only had limited success.

Thx

Casting my vote for the GP Paps Lux here. Basically a copper mod with the best switch in the business (my opinion). Very elegant design, dead simple. Voltage drop is non-existent. The X looks nice, but adjustable air control is superfluous for me (I use genesis RBA's only) and the SS will give up some conductivity.

As someone who is on the hunt, I appreciate opinions from someone who can actually recommend, not just based on an opinion of one, but experience based on all three (as set-up by the OP). Nice.

i find the button on the poldiac quite simplistic mself a plunger with a silver pin in it and a magnet on the end, not really complicated. unscrew the battery and 510 connections and it pops right out for easy polishing of the pin.

huh? its a solid tube. maybe im reading this wrong.

Sorry. I mis-spoke. It has more places to lose voltage when they get dirty. It uses a telescoping pin for the atty connection as well as a hot spring, which is silver plated from the factory...but it's still a spring. It works well, but that's just one more thing to clean...the connections on both sides of the switch, as well as inside it, the top cap, the spring, and the bottom cap.

I don't think it's worth the trouble.

I don't mind cleaning my mods, I usually clean them once a week and it's almost a zen experience, relaxing :)

Ive not had many bottom switch mods that I've liked, they always felt awkward to use, but I haven't used many to compare, the Poldiac seems cool because it's a side button that doesn't stick out far like the GG and many others, pretty innovative in my opinion. The truth will be in how well it works.

ahh no problem just for reference its the same pin design in the roller and 69 as well. a silver plated setscrew in a larger base.

and for the spring I replaced mine (in most of my mods) with the rhodium plated roller springs :D having already dropped a hotspring once from a shorted atty, i would rather have the spring then that little fuse in the way.

I hear you on the fuse. Those things blow at like 7A, which is kind of pointless.

I just prefer bottom-buttons, ideally without the current traveling through a spring. I also think they're safer 'cuz the non-hot spring actually breaks the circuit...so you don't have a wear-part failing as a safety, you just let it go and the circuit opens.

But, I've also never vented a battery. The only things I've had happen were caused by an intermittent hard short in an iGo-L that made some coils melt for some reason. I tossed it and haven't had a problem since.
