Opposite of slowtech IGO-w taste funny

I had an Octo cheap rda and thought I wanted a cheap rda with a bit if a drip bowl so it would be less sloppy. I got an IGO-W from china. I pulled the stock coils right away and wound 10 wraps of 28ga kanthal on a 1/16" bit. Burned that clean and pulled a wisp of cotton through. Nasty , just nasty. Washed it all again and pulled fresh cotton and there is just a funny taste. It's usable but the tinge it puts on the taste is not present with the Octopus or my beloved Reomizer on the Grand.

What could be wrong?

Oh, I don't know if I have an odd ball or not but my standard plastic drip tip is just a bit to big for the IGO-W. Thought I ditch the stainless drip tip to see if that would make a difference. No go. Is there a drip tip size that just a hair bigger than most?

I did a dual coil an hour ago strong vape tons of vapor and flavor overload. Your probably using to much cotton? My wick slides in and out easy if your having to tug on the wick then is too tight

I'll try the tiny wisp. I hope that's it. Big disappointment so far. But it is so simple mechanically and electrically that it has to be a mater of tuning up my technique.

I had to turn the PC back on to let you know. The looser fit on the cotton seems to be the ticket! Seduce Juice Snake Venom taste like it should. Nice.

I used to get a funny taste after dry burning and rinsing... turns out it was the water in the coils I was tasting. Now after rinsing I pulse the coil until the "hiss" disappears, and it tastes fine. Glad yours is up and running.
