Don't know how other to start this, other than, this thing is ...... me off...BIG TIME.
Its riddled with dry hits. I tried lower power and another pod but its still the same. Left it to saturate overnight.
Best of all is i'm taking it slow...not chaining it at all.
Got the 0.8ohm mesh at 3.6V. Had it at 15W as well. 60/40 vg/pg mix.
This is a nightmare as I was soooo looking forward to it....:-x
Any suggestions out there....? PLZ !!!
Does anybody have an email address to the Orchid manufacturers as I want to try and talk with them...thanks.

I'm starting to think there are shills or paid reviewers on ECF telling us that some products are great when they are not.
most of them, either free device + reseller (promo code) + cash reward. basically i trust none of them, their clips for me to know how it look like, simple features but not performance ...

They call themselves "influencers" these days. Build up a reputation and an audience, then ..... out your good name for free product samples. Give an honest review and the flow of free samples dries up.

There's nothing on the package so you can find a number? Appears they're actually in US- Los Angeles.

Their website has no "contact us" info. Orchid Vapor LLC

They have a FB page with at least an email address: Orchid

They're digging their own grave...
Yup. Seen it before. Even if the product was great, sufficiently bad customer communication will sink a product every time.

Vapecigge almost hit the big time with their VTX200 squonk. That was actually the best product of its type on the market for a while. They put up, no joke, a fake website with no actual links in it though and the thing died. They were THERE and they still blew it.

It’s WAY more important with a problem product. Probably the last we’ll see of them. Someone burned up years of work in a flat out dumpster fire here.

I opened up a pod and had a look at the mesh coil setup.
The cotton isn't that tightly secured. The cotton is only wrapped around the coil which can lead to small gaps between cotton and coil. It needs something to maybe squeeze the cotton to the coil to ensure a positive contact between coil and cotton. The wrapped cotton do fit into a sleeve (mouth piece) but obviously not tight enough.
Yeah this damn mesh pod is a fail. Now i'm stuck with it. Hopefully the other coil they plan to release some time will do better...at least I can get some use from it then. As it is now, i'm to afraid to take more than one pull from it.....crazy !!!

Daniel DJlsb said the same. Constantly getting dry hits, thats why still no review from him
Yeah it can be used, but only one pull at a time...:-x
When its opened you can see the flaw in the coil design. The cotton is just loosely wrapped around the coil. Also the cotton is of poor quality. Thin hardish strips wrapped over eachother. There's no way that cotton can make a good and positive contact with the coil all round. There's bound to be little gaps. Very badly designed....!!!
This damn company should be ashamed of themselves.
I'm just hoping that word spreads fast so others can be spared.

Agreed, ofc there are reviewers who do that, some make huge amounts of cash too, but many do not prostitute themselves in that way.

I have given negative reviews and neg technical feedback to manufacturers who happily continue to send stuff ( I test and review specialist electronics from time to time for money as well as vape kit - which is a fun, unpaid activity). Having chatted with a few regular ECF reviewers I can happily say that the majority of us on here at least are squeeky clean in that respect. Check the reviews here for example and you will see plenty of negative comments.

A personal review soapbox is criticism of Chinglish instructions and inconsistent tech specs that only serve to confuse. Sadly that mostly falls on deaf ears, though I have managed to get manuals changed in time for release.

Finally, you will find that most vape manufacturers explicitly forbid the sale of review devices ( .. most boxes are marked "sample only" and devices sometimes are too), so "for fun" reviewers should not gain any financial advantage. ( some will sell ofc...) I give stuff away, all smoking/vaping relatives & friends are bombarded and I have been known to give kits away to people I see smoking outside pubs

My Orchid, the pod included was defective. As I included ten spare pods in the order, it didn't prove a serious problem; all the spare pods I used so far have been working as espected.

If you didn't order extra pods, and the one included with the device is defective - from how you tell your experience, you may want to ask the dealer for a replacement.

The traditional (lack of) warranty on coils, usually DOA only, has now been extended to pods, and this - I tell you - is no good.

Because a pod may not be DOA, but be useless anyway, as five dollars (or euro or pounds) down the drain, and some endless frustration.

Who do we talk to?

This is a good pod.
With the good pods, the vape is excellent.

The two cotton stripes above in the picture are packed tightly but not pressed.

In the defective pod, the mesh was not touching the cotton, can't guess what went wrong with them.

Dealers should take care, if the problem is so spread. I'm starting to worry about the functionality of all the unused pods I stocked.. They are five pounds each...

Hello Fredman, I have a curiosity and a question for you.

I use some 12 or 18 mg 50 / 50 PG/VG blueberry flavoured e-liquid with the Orchid and, unless a pod was clearly defective, I had no problems of sort with dry hits.

Following your report of dry hits above, yesterday night I filled a good pod with some 12 Monkeys 80/20 VG/PG e-liquid and - it come as a surprise to me - I got some annoying dry hits. Unvapable I would say.

So my question to you is: what type of e-liquid are you using?

The Orchid pods - the good ones I have - don't work well with high VG e-liquids.

It can be normal behavior for pod systems like the Smok Fit or the small Minifit, but, at this point, with a subohm mesh like the Orchid, we may have expected that High-VG were suitable instead.
