I cant speak about the other clones, but i have 2 tobeco v1's and have had no issues at all.I have a v4 coming in a few days, and if needed i will post pics of the wick setup i have been using.I use rayon instead of cotton, but get great flavor, vapor production, and no leaks even if they lay on their side. That video looks like an interesting way to do it as well, but i prefer the simple approach. After pulling the wick through the coil, cut each side so it looks like a bowtie, then split each side, take about a 1/3 of the bottom half, and run it into the channels, less than half way down, then trim the rest of the wick about 1/8" from the coil.Perfect every time that way,may be different with cotton though.

V4? Ah yes, look at that. Meh, I don't like that they are going away from the unique look of the tank.

I agree,i love the way they look with the original tank, but i also like the fact of the added capacity that the v4 brings.I won't be keeping this new one looking like it does though,it will be more true to the orchid look,i ordered a frosted m-tank to put on it.It wont have the bulge, but at least it will have the frosted tank to at least get it back close to the look.

I bought an all frosted (mtank, kayfun chimney, and frosted top cap) from ebay... The tank bulges a little so it looks like a tall orchid.. I'll try to find the link

Edit: here it is: http://www.ebay.com/itm/KAYFUN-3-1-...TE-FROST-WHITE-BODY-KIT-M-TANK-/301346215780?

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I nailed the wicking on the first try. Granted, I wasn't happy with the performance of the build and immediately ripped it out, but wicked it the same the second time and I've had no problems with dry hits or leaking.

Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture.

The final build was dual coils, 8 wraps of 27ga at 2.2mm which came in around 0.6Ω and running it at 28 watts. Wicked it with organic cotton ball, I simply trimmed the wick tails and pressed them in over the liquid channels, but not in them. The spaces next to the coil are pretty much filled with cotton.

I've vaped a couple tanks out of it so far (Which doesn't take long) with no problems to report. Flavor is decent, vapor is GREAT.

Disclaimer:

First ever RBA build attempt that actually works; this is on an Orchid V4 which is the same as the V2 except the tank capacity (I think). I wasted like 10 feet of kanthal so no this wasn't a first attempt per se. :)

9 wraps 28 gauge Kanthal, off-the-shelf cotton balls. came out to 1.2 ohms. Let me know what you think.
