Orchid v6

So my sister-in-law just got her orchid v6. I haven't built on it yet, i'm looking for some starting advise. Where should i start ? She currently uses a protank 2, with 2.1 ohm coils. She likes the vape with that. I'm just not sure where to start. Also are there any building issues ? As far as leaking wick placement etc... what size coils work best... Just lloking for some advice here.

I have a orchid v4, perhaps the same as a v6.
Im using 28g, 1.9ohms.
She probably should of started with a kayfun lite.
Easier to build, bout vaped & taiste the same.

i currently use a kfl+ and kfl 3.1.
I will be building hers for her at least in the begining. She has never built anything. Shes been using the protank2, and my old mvp. Before that she was using some cheap ego sticks.

Don't over wick, the Orchid deck doesn't like a lot of cotton - just enough to fill the upper juice channel to keep it from flooding. Helps to paste the wick down with juice before putting the one-piece chimney on.

Not having built on it yet looking to others experience to get started.

What kind of mod do you plan to use with it? The Orchid shines at higher power, but upgrading to any Orchid from a PT2 is gonna be like jumping from a Vespa scooter to a Ducati 1198. This tank is overkill for her needs.

The deck in my avatar is an Orchid with 24 ga oval coils.

Orchid 6 is very easy to build
dual 24 GA coils

hulky but short wick (I trimmed more on the right side after taking the picture)

load with juice (with closed air flow control screws) and fire up on istick 50

Looks like one of your coils has 2 or 3 more wraps than the other. Is that on purpose?

Of course not But works fine. Will rebuild tomorrow.

Wasn't being snarky or anything. I know my juices taste different depending on how much power the coil sees. I could see where each coil would have a different flavor profile, making the overall vape more complex, so I thought maybe you were on to something. You should have just said "I meant to do that!"

That's an interesting idea I may try that...

I would build it like duc916... You need some small amount of cotton in the juice channel.

It should be okay even with higher vg juice. But don't put it in sleep position overnight. Orchid will leaks

Also I normally build it between 0.5-0.8....

I use a 2.5mm diameter screw driver , 7 wraps , 26 gauge kanthal, around 0.45 ohms

Went with twisted 28g 7 or 8 wraps. Turned out ok. Trimmed and tucked tails into juice channels. She said she didn't have any leaks. ..
