I ordered a riva 501 from liberty flights including some lr boge cartomizers, ry3, coconut and vanilla.

The Ry3 is okay, no strange taste. But the coconut and vanilla for some reason cause this disgusting burnt soapy metalic taste that is just wrong.. I don't know why this is, i've tried the blank cartridges with the atomizer and ive tried the lr boge carto's and i get this same horrid taste..?

The vanilla in my 510 joye tastes just fine however, so what could the reason for this be? I've tried 2 diferent riva 501 batteries and its the same..

Well I'll make a guess, I think you're not be getting enough liquid to the heating element. Your new Riva batteries are higher voltage than your Joye 510's. You've also lowered the resistance, at least on the cartos. Liberty Flights lists the riva atties as 2.2 on their US page, but the UK site didn't seem to specify.

You didn't say what kind of Joye 510 you have, but assuming it's not a tank, you already know about blowing out the shipping fluid from the atty. You also did not mention if the coconut liquid was OK on the Joye. Tobacco flavors hold up with more power better than fruits/vanillas, so I'm not suprised that one worked out. As an experiment, I'd suggest using the Riva attys, but drip instead of using carts. Unmodified carts don't wick too well and the increased power might push them too far. When using the boge cartos, did you make sure they were fully saturared and give them some time after the initial fill to make sure the liquid spread through all the filler? One last thing to try, change your vaping style. With the standard 510 it's better to take long slow drags. At higher power levels it's better to vape more quickly to let the wicking process keep up.

In any event, changing equipment means there's a new learning curve. Hopefully you'll get it figured out and enjoy the experience.

I' have a Riva 510 kit from LF; I use the Boge LR cartomizers and I have tried several of their flavors. All of the flavors have been excellent with two glaring exceptions. Cappuccino is simply wretched and, if I were in charge of marketing at LF, I would re-brand Coconut as "Mongolian ....-Crack", until all stock was depleted, at which point, I would recommend that the suppliers laboratories be razed and the site be buried under a few feet of dense concrete.

My favorite LF flavors are Black Clove (tobacco), Blueberry, Double Mint, Pineapple, and Fruit Mix in that order, thus far.

IF you usieng the attys,it could be the primer fluid... But if it still has that terrible taste when you use the carto's,its proberly like others have siad that they just burning to hot for the liquid.Try either taking shorter drags or it could just be terrible liquid in that case the only option is getting more.I have had my fiar share of horrid liquid, its just the way the world works, for every great flavor there are ten equely terrible ones waiting to be bought. :)

One thing you can try as well is letting it steep for a bit... Pop the top off and set it in a dark, cool closet somewhere for a week or two. I've had to do that with some liquid I got from Wicked Vapor, the watermelon I got from them was pretty nasty and smelled funny. After I let it sit for about 4-5 days, it now smells and tastes like watermelon.
It also helped some of the stuff I ordered from another company as well.

New atomizers have primer on them that tastes like machine oil. Do you have a drip tip or an empty cart?

* blow out the atomizer into a tissue, drip 4 drops of liquid on the bridge /\ and let that soak down to the coil 9wait 1-2 minutes), vape that mostly off without inhaling. Repeat from *. Now; repeat again and try inhaling.

Instead, some people just blow out a new atty then run hot water through it, then shake/blow that out, then let it dry a bit, then prime with juice.

Also - hardware vendors are not the best juice vendors. Hardware vendors generally buy their juices from elsewhere, and in general you are going to like some juices and not like others. Order some more flavors and look elsewhere for juices too. I would not get too exotic with the choices until you get a juice vendor you like.

I tasted the juices by themselves, and my gosh are they disgusting

Please guys avoid Coconut, and Vanilla from LF - i vomitted when I got the first wave of vapour

I'm sorry that happened to you. I've been there OMG it's just awful. Best to buy juice from juice suppliers. Sounds like you enjoy sweets/fruits/bakery. KickBassVapor.com may have some juice that's a fit for you. Check out their thread here on ECF. Ginormous fan base. Lots of others, too. I recommend because their juices are mellow, lots of vapor and don't ravage your throat. Hope your tummy is ok.

There are lots of good juice vendors in the US but the OP is in London. I would have stuck to PG tobaccos flavors at LIberty-Flights.co.uk since it's a hardware vendor. Save the exotic flavor choices for a real juice vendor. Visit the ECF UK forum (in National Forums) as well as the UK vendor and classified threads in Buying & Selling and see who your UK juices vendors are. If you plan to use cartomizers, look for thin juices (mostly PG, little VG)

You can try steeping the bad tasting one - use a tissue to pop out the dropper tip (tilt sideways as you pull up) then set the juice open like that for several hours to overnight somewhere safely away from kids, pets and spills. Then push the dropper tip in and try again or let sit for a week capped then try. But vanilla and coconuts are not easy flavors - they are the kind you may take many of before you find ones you like. Fruit flavors and tobacco flavors are more likely to be good ones.
