Since my taxes came in, I went ahead and ordered the TW Tornado...I'm SO excited!!!! I would've gotten the Janty eGo, but they are sold out...even extra bats are gone!
I also just ordered some niquid from Ms. T's and Tasty Vapor!!! My gf will "inherit" my 510 bats when I get the Tornado.
WHHOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
(Sorry...did I mention I was excited??? LOL)

I'm impressed with just about everything to do with the tornado.

My next order will be for a five pack of batteries, a few cones and some charger adapters to use with the pile of 510 chargers I have laying about.

Battery 5 packs work out to under $16 per once you use the coupon code.

The only problem I have is that I like to use retailers that do free shipping once you hit a certain dollar amount and TW still does not offer that.

I kind of have this feeling that we will be looking back in a few years and calling the Tornado/eGo the model T of vaping.

OMB - You will love your Tornado. And with TV and Ms T you will absolutely be in heaven!!!

River - I was thinking of buying half dozen or so extra batteries, but was wondering about the shelf life. Can you keep extras around for a few months or even a year?

Li-Ion batteries start their death cycle on the date of manufacture so be wary of stockpiling too far out. An unused Li-Ion stored will degrade. Kind of makes you wonder about those too good to be true prices. getting old stock already degraded would suck.

I just got my tornado today and it's absolutely beautiful (white) looking and to be able to use all my 510 gear makes it even more attractive. I've only used it for a couple hours and have already been online ordering an extra battery, cones and charger adapters. I should have ordered the 5 pack of batteries but why would I need them when the battery's last so long? I might end up ordering them in the future but for now I think 3 will do me just fine. I just love this thing! and I'm sure all who order will feel the same.

I have read a number of articles and such that indicate that the optimal storage charge is 40% and that the colder you store them the less they degrade. So much so, or so little so I guess you could say, that you have to conclude that stored in the freezer they can last for a long time, especially if stored while only slightly charged.

And that is where I have all mine, in the freezer.
:)

Anyway, here is just one chart I came across while trying to find this information again...

Code:
Storage Temperature 40% Charge 100% Charge
      32°F (0°C) [B]2%[/B] loss after 1 year [B]6%[/B] loss after 1 year
      77°F (25°C) [B]4%[/B] loss after 1 year [B]20%[/B] loss after 1 year
     104°F (40°C) [B]15%[/B] loss after 1 year [B]35%[/B] loss after 1 year
     140°F (60°C) [B]25%[/B] loss after 1 year [B]40%[/B] loss after [I]3 months[/I]

Yeah if you have a ton of them cold storage minimizes the degradation. And I also read about that 40% charge for long term storage. I just wanted to let them know not to go crazy and stockpile for nuclear winter.

With the eGo/Tornado being so new I would assume at the rate they are flying off shelves that we are assured recently manufactured stock.

In the case of the tornado/ego how old could they be?

They have only been out for a month.

I will just triple wrap them in plastic with some gel packs to keep the humidity under control and stick them in the freezer.

My husband and I ordered a Janty Ego then last night ordered two tornados from TW. We havent gotten Jantys yet, but they are on the way. We cant wait to get them either. I also ordered extra batteries and cones. We got those but that was just a teaser for us. We cant use them.:(
If you have a battery that's all you need it will have a charge on it right out of the box, slap a 510 atty on there and get to vaping.
