Hi,

I chose the Reo Mini 2.1 and also got the RM2. I've never built a coil, but after reading countless posts and watching countless vids, I think I'm ready. Maybe I should have picked up a few spare parts while I was there, but I got only an extra 3ml bottle. From another vendor I ordered 30 ga Kanthal and an ohms meter. I couldn't find the sterile cotton at CVS I read about, but I did find organic. I'm boiling it up now so that part will be done. Didn't have distilled water, but I do have bottled water (spring water) Can't find my dang colander, so i'm using a small loaf tin, that I poked holes in.

Over the last several months I've been using carto tanks atop my provari. No complaints, I just love to learn new vape systems. That and when the big bad wolf comes knocking down the other houses, I think the reo users and other mech mod users, along with rba's will be more self sufficient.

And anyway, it's nice to have choices, eh?

I'll check back in on ya when I have my purchases in hand. No doubt will have a question or two, or a dozen.

Hiya! If you needed other spare parts, it shouldn't take too long for them to get to you if you ordered them up. Many folks are trying that Koh Gen Do cotton now, supposed to be even better, and don't have to boil anything now.

My Koh Gen Do will be here tomorrow. Really looking to try it out.

Steelgirl, go to Michaels and pick up an Artistic Wire Coil gadget. Super_X_drifter has a video out on it and it makes building a coil a piece of cake. Watch his video. It is that easy.

+1 on the Ko Gen Do. I've got it in my RM2 now for 10 days and haven't had to change it yet! Great, clean taste and lasts so much better than ball cotton.

Hey Steelgirl, what size batteries do the 2.1 minis use? I don't see that info on the site.

18490. Which is the same as Provari and I have bout 5 of those, so I'm good. I hope I can avoid over draining bat tho. I'm so used to the device telling me when to charge.

You'll know when to change, the vape quality will drop off. Also, when in doubt, use a multimeter if you have one.

Does anyone make several coils at a time just to have spares? Or do you just builds as needed? It seems like (once you know what your doing) that one could spend an hour or so and make a boat load of coils.

I do, or did once! Brought my stuff in the living-room and while I watched tv I did about 10 coils. Didn't take long at all.

Then do you test and tweak then store away, or do you build and then just store and then check, tweak as you are about to use?

Store them till I need them. I put them on then check ohms. Pretty much know what number of wraps will give me my range. It is working out well! Gave a couple to my daughter when she was over. Good to have some already made and sitting there.

i make mine as i need them, but HRH typically dumps 3 on me at any time and so i sit down on a Sunday normally and make hers for her. Not because i am kind, but because she likes higher resistance ones than i do. The build is similar but the wire is different.

My coils are a 5 minute bit of nonsense i can do in a moving vehicle!
And because that's such a chore, i normally try to dry burn them clean and re-wick them before i go to such extremes :)

I once used to make a load of them, but they never got used because i'd watch a video or some friends of mine would post a build and go for something totally different.
