I am trying to buy a house around Phoenix so I can hopefully retire there in a few years. How bad is the job market now?

Bout as crap as it is anywhere else, other states may have it worse, but it's still pretty damn rough to find anything.

The one thing that helps you get anything right now is actual work experience, otherwise it's praying McDonald's calls you back for most people.

Would suggest buying outside of the main PHX area too, Chandler has alot of nice neighborhoods for a change, back when I lived there that was one of the crap parts of town.

Thanks, I cannot believe the housing market in Phoenix right now.

Housing market anywhere is crazy, but alot of folks in CA are basically egressing to AZ, so I'm not 100% on how strange the market is up there atm.
