Ordering from China

When I first started reading ECF, I seen comments about risks ordering from China. I had even went to a china site to place an order and they commented about your items getting seized at customs coming in from China. I want a better pv (I have a regular 510) and cant afford much. I know China is cheaper and the shipping is a bit more expensive, but if all together its cheaper, then thats where I want to order from. My question...whats the chances of it getting seized when coming into the US? And any recommendations on site and what to order?

I buy hardware in co-ops and in bulk from China. The latter is cheaper even with paying the full shipping charge. It's even cheaper in a co-op because the shipping is split amongst all the people in the co-op.
I've done the sole orders a few times and I've never had one seized and that was back when there was more danger of it happening. None of the co-ops I've been in have been seized.
And where to buy from pretty much depends on what you want to buy. The hardest to buy in bulk right now is the CE2 because a few vendors have pressed the manufacturer into not allowing personal sales.

Edit: I should add that I only do self made mods so when I say hardware it's atty, cartos, or whatever.

You are able to buy VV mods and the like from American websites for $40. I personally would not buy from China myself.

I ordered from Heaven Gifts and had no problems. But the American shops (ECF approved) don't inflate their prices much and are much easier to deal with if you have concerns. Unless you are going to start ordering in bulk, I recommend staying local.

vv stands for variable volt---you can adjust it to your personal preference.

I've never had a problem ordering ecig stuff from China. Sometimes it takes weeks to arrive, but they do eventually arrive.

But personally I prefer to order locally since Customs don't interfere and the shipping time is much quicker.

I prefer local or at least US suppliers, I just cant afford a lot. I have been seeing the Lea and it looks like something I could do. Where would I find a VV mod?

I've ordered purple Ego parts from Health Cabin. The shipping was relatively fast to Massachusetts, but it wasn't cheap.

Liberty Flights has reasonable prices, click on the top left corner ad for 20% off your order. They are based in the UK but ship from California, so they accept PayPal.

Too many local, (Stateside), dealers are just too damned greedy. They pay .10 plus shipping for plastic drip tips and try and sell them for $3.50 or more. Markups like this are what drives me to China. JMHO

I think the risk people talk about are more with buying quantity from places you find on alibaba. Other than high shipping and long delivery times, I haven't heard of problems ordering from sites like heavens gifts, health cabin, and eastmall.
