I posted this elsewhere and thought it would be good to share with my fellow Ms. T brothers & sisters.

For anyone who uses cartomizers long enough, you'll eventually have a bunch lying around with various liquids inside. After awhile you'll begin to forget which flavors are which. There has to be a simple easy way to organize my cartomizers in order to prevent such confusion?

The solution for me was a Metallic Silver Sharpie purchased at Wal-Mart. It's a permanent marker with a fine tip. If you're using black cartomizers, it works perfectly. And because it's permanent, it will never smear or smudge when used directly on a cartomizer body.

Here are two Boge cartomizers. The left one is filled with Butterscotch Caramel Cheesecake (BCC) and the right one is filled with Strawberry Lemonade (SL)

Here is a pic with the Boge cartomizer connected to my Firefly. Notice the cone off to the side

When the cone is screwed on, it covers any writing you have on the cartomizer:thumbs:

The Sharpie Metallic Silver permanent marker looks like this. Note the fine tip

If you don't already have a foolproof system for organizing your cartos, go out and buy one now

This system rocks for me:headbang:

That's cool. I tried permanent marker once but it rubbed off on my cartomizers after a few days. I guess with having a cone it helps. With mine (because I have a lot of cartos) I bought all-purpose labels and cut them into tiny strips and stuck it to the carto with the name on it. That works great for me. I also keep all the cartos in a little plastic box that once held paper binder clips.

I first tried the silver marker but the silver color would wear off in a few days leaving only a dark orange color that was hard to read and also quickly wore off.
Now I use a label maker I picked up at wal-mart for about $15 that included 3 different kinds of label cartridges. I use the paper ones for cartomizers. The vinyl ones tended to come unstuck too easily, especially in my pocket. But the paper ones don't come off so long as you print them long enough that they go completely around the cart so the end sticks to paper and not the cart.

You posted this on a thread I had started here I did read it, and wrote back with a "thank you for the awesome idea," but I guess I didn't click the "post reply" button because it's not there.

I'm so sorry about that. I did go out and buy the fine-tipped silver sharpie, and have been one happy, organized vaper since. I just wanted you to know it was an awesome idea, and I really appreciate the time and effort you took to respond to my query.

You're welcome NE. Glad I could help.

I used to use the silver sharpie too. I also had the "rubbing off" problem others mentioned. My solution was to label the cart and then wrap a piece of clear scotch tape around it. Worked like a charm.
That's a great idea Stephra.

I've found that if I'm careful, the silver sharpie idea works well. Not touching the ink for the first 10 minutes after application helps to let it dry. Because I always use a cone, the sharpie ink doesn't get touched much and lasts the life of the carto. If my hands are clean the ink doesn't fade or smear when touched. But I've found that if I have juice or oils on my fingertips, it is possible to smear the ink if I'm not careful.

Stephra's scotch tape idea above is a foolproof solution. I might have to incorporate that into my practices.

A coat of clear fingernail polish works great as well.
It's also great to keep the printing on measuring cups, graduated cyldaers, syringes, etc from wearing off for DIYers.
