Many, many moons ago I made a New Year's resolution to quit smoking (cold turkey). In preparation I laid in a supply of snack foods, including pretzel rods, licorice sticks, slim jims, and other cigarette shaped goodies besides the normal chips and dips.
I spent New Years Day watching bowl games, snacking, and having a scotch or beer when the cravings to smoke hit me. Watched parts of all the games whenever I wasn't sleeping / passed out.
Started smoking again after consuming over $75 worth of junk food, and unknown quantities of beverages, and another mass shooting in America was averted.
