I'm honestly sorry for interrupting the thread with a different subject but I signed up just now specifically to ask westhc (two posts up) about the eGo adapter he glued onto his istick when the threads stripped. He made a thread about it back in February but it's closed so I can't reply there and I was unaware that I can't message him because I haven't made 5 posts yet. If you see this westhc could you message me if you have time? If that's possible anyway with me being a non-messaging noob and all. Don't worry if you're busy with Christmas of course!

I did the same thing last night, was very careful and only put a few tiny bits of glue on the top of the istick where the adapter flange sits so it wouldn't run down into the contact area, placed the adapter on and tested it as it dried. However, once it had dried properly I tested it again and it just repeatedly says "No atomizer" and, yes, I used super glue so it ain't coming off at the moment. I was just wondering where I may have gone wrong. I'm gonna try to get it off again later with acetone-based nail varnish remover if the wife's got some but really need to work out how to glue it on again in a working state!

Merry Christmas all! It's already here where I live!

I'm not @westhc (but I'm flagging him so that he knows where to look) and am unfamiliar with the thread you are referencing, but one of the problems that the original iStick had in addition to soft threads was that the pin is not spring-loaded. If the pin was also pushed down when the threads were stripped, it may not be making contact with the adapter and, hence, not reading your atomizer. Since you used superglue, I do not know what you might do if such is the case... :( Best of luck.

Happy Festivus, everyone. May you succeed in your Feats of Strength!

I messaged Barns with some further info but don't know if I can help. Sounds like he tried it the same way I did although I used a slower drying glue. The fix worked until the Istick went to battery heaven.

Santa has made it to South America! The hours are ticking down.
