So back in my day, when I first started driving in the early 70's, I had a lot of different cars. One of my faves was a 76 Nova with a 350 engine. i also worked at a classic Mustang restoration shop for a few years, that was fun!
But now I'm lusting after the new Dodge Challengers, they look so sweet!
I think it's time for this ol lady to trade in her mini van ( what a mistake that was!) and get a car that screams, yeah baby! I always laughed at older guys getting Porches or Corvettes but now that I'm getting older I can totally get it (tho I promise i won't be tryin to pick up young guys, ain't a couger!)

I recently talked with a guy who was driving a new Charger. He pulled up while I was checking the air pressure in my car's tires and we chatted a bit. He was around my age, maybe a few years older. He was really proud of his muscle car, and also expressed a lot of interest in my car ... that was, after all, the reason he stopped to talk.

His Charger was garage kept and a pampered vehicle in all respects. He told me how it would kick .... and leave most "ordinary" cars eating dust. And, he complained that he could only take it out of the garage once or twice a week due to its severe gasoline addiction. But, if you can afford the car, and the fuel bill ... you only live once.

From my perspective, the vehicle is a dinosaur. But, to each his/her own.

Muscle Car? I laugh in the general direction of your muscle car (sorry, Monty Python reference). And raise you one of these:

Which is what I have recently bought. Getting older, yes, but aren't we all?

I am not having a midlife crisis. I have already had at least 3 of those.

See, that's the problem with muscle cars. Unless one is actually a millionaire, there's gonna be something which can kick your .....

Personally, I would find it a bit annoying to own a car capable of 3X the highest speed limit in the country.

Interesting...I have been driving for 25+ years and, living in the UK, had to putter around in cramped, 4-cylinder putt-putt Euro econo-boxes (well, my last car there was a VW Golf Mk.2 - a 1.8 liter engine and stick shift actually made it pretty zippy). After years of minivans, here, in Mexico, with growing family, the first thing I bought when I had the chance?

A dirty, great, roaring, stinking, v8 diesel Chevy Suburban with lifted body and fatter tires. :vapor:

Lovin' it! :2cool:

As long as you buy American, I say go for it! I grew up in Mich and had my share, including some odd but cool ducks. Anyone remember the AMC Javelin or AMX? I had 'em both and still lived to tell the story. :2cool:

Over the weekend, saw the following:
AMC Eagle (yikes!) a PACER (double yikes! a four-wheeled fishbowl!) and last but not least - a Dodge DART (I can not believe ANYONE still has one of those!)

WoW... maybe I'm just old-fashioned... if your gonna buy a bike - it should at least LOOK like one! :)
they do look neat, but...
I saw a guy a few days ago that had (what I call) training wheels - his bike was BUILT with a front-back tire, but had a pair of saddle-bag looking things added on that had TIRES under them - giving his (and I use the term loosely here) bike - FOUR WHEELS... sheesh...

I believe the intent is to give a sort-of-like-a-bike riding experience for those of us who can no longer wrassle a true hog.

Breeze into some small hick town in the boonies on this, pull out your VV and start vaping, and the locals will be calling the Air Force because they're being invaded by space aliens. :)
