Time for another question. I have been asking a lot lately. LOL I have debating for a week about whether to buy a provari. They seem pricey but I do like the fact that it might last for years without me having to worry about getting another one.

What I am looking for is the best best possible flavor from my juices. I must have muted taste buds but often I don't taste the flavors the way I should when other people say they can. The best luck I have had is a Protank 3 cranked up to 5 volts.

What do you guys think of running a provari with a protank 3? I know some of you will suggest a rba but I am not up to learning how to build them right now, so I am thinking of a clearomizer guaranteed to give the strongest and best juice flavor.

Suggestions?

I am using PT2s on my ProVari and I enjoy them. The flavor is still muted compared to an RDA but since you mention that you do not want to go that route then I think the ProTank is the way to go. You will have others come in here and tell you the PTs suck on a ProVari. Individual experiences vary.

I used Vivi Novas before the PTs and the flavor difference, while not huge, is enough for me. I love my PT/ProVari combo. It is my daily driver. I use my dripper at home or at the local shop but my ProVari is never too far away.

I started out the day planning on buying another ProVari (I currently have two and they do last forever) and trying to find a Kayfun Lite. This day has ended and I ended up buying an iHybrid Celtic (genesis hybrid) found in the ecf classifieds. I love my ProVari mods but decided to jump head first into rebuilding.

I may get into rebuilding but I am not the handiest person around. And the way I look at it, I vape because I used to enjoy smoking. Though the flavors seem muted sometimes, I have also come to enjoy the juices more than the tobacco in an analog. Nevermind the health issues that come from avoiding analogs. But I don't see myself turning this into a hobby the way so many people have. When I read the Mod Envy facebook group or this one sometimes, it reminds me of teenagers building their own cars. LOL I am just not that sort. Thanks for the advice. I am a little leery about spending $179 for a provari but I keep reminding myself how much money I saved by not smoking the past year and feel like treating myself. I just passed my one year anniversary!

Ah...see. It took me over two years before I dove into that pool. I do admit, my first ProVari was purchased about a month into my e-cig adventure and I do use Protanks (originals and II's) on them occasionally. Right now my first ProVari has a Phiniac carto tank on it and my second one, temporarily, has an Aspire Nautilus on it. I'm a really big fan of the Vapor Shark Glass system (uses Kanthal for the coils) because it really brings out the flavors of the juices.

As with everything out there...it's just a matter of taste.

Get a J-tank and then view Baditudes blog. If you like that make the step up to an IBTanked or a Phiniac. Ive used carto tanks side by side with clearotanks (protank) with the exact same juice and there is no comparison in terms of flavor or ease of use.

If I had to rate the various juice delivery devices out there in terms of which provides the most flavor it would be this.

Carto

Clearotank (protank)

Carto Tank (eliminates dry hits from the carto as its immersed in liquid)

Rba

Dripping attie

Periodically switch from my PT2 to Vivi Nova, usually depending on what coils I happen to find in my box. When I tire of each or forget to order, back to dripping or a Resurrector - still, IMHO, the best flavor. I'm just too lazy or busy vaping to keep loading. On the way is a Russian 91%, maybe this one will be "it". (But probably not...)

I have also considered purchasing a Provari..
However...
After reading the online instruction manual..
Its just seems like another electronic device in my home that will constantly flash 12:00......
How may times do I have to press the same button!!!!

I press mine ONCE, and it works every time.

Once you get it set and then pick a resistance and stick to it? None.

I havent changed the voltage setting on my Provari in over 8 months. The only time I go thru the menu is to test the resistance of new cartos so I dont accidentally fry them.

I thought it was going to be an extreme hassle but you get used to it and its honestly not that bad. Having a button thats rated at over 5 million clicks beats having 2 or 3 that look like theyre going to fall off any minute like on a Vamo.

Also if you do any driving at all, you'll appreciate that one button a LOT as all it takes is an occasional glance down (and counting to ones self to make a change)

It took me about a month from starting vaping to buying one too. I have different tanks. Sometimes (at least for me), it's trial and error on the tanks. I change flavors often so I don't buy super expensive tanks. I've tried lots and lots. I actually like the IClear 30B, the Hypertank, I even don't have issues with the IClear 30S, I didn't especially love Protanks. I have a Nautilus on the way. I HATED the Kanger Aerotank because I had two broke within a week so I'm done with them. I also have several carto tanks but I still like the clearo's. I know others will disagree and that's okay. You'll just have to try a few and see what works for you the best. You made a great decision with the Provari though - I can promise you that.

My next purchase is going to be an dripper and ask a few people how to rebuild and that sort of thing. :)

I'm not sure what you mean by this. I'm probably the dumbest person on earth when it comes to operating things and I've found the Provari to be the easiest I've ever had. If I can work this thing....trust me, anyone can.

You either press the same button multiple times or press multiple buttons one or more times each. What, exactly, is the difference? To each their own.

Oh and yes...a Russian 91% is on my "want list". I forgot about that one.

You should give carto tanks a try first. You may be pleasantly surprised. A lot of people hear carto and immediately think dry hit or that it is somehow inferior to a clearo-tank.

Its not, its actually a step up and being surrounded in liquid eliminates those nasty dry hits.In terms of flavor only an RBA and a dripper are superior IMO.

I agree with zapped on this. I have ProTanks, a Nautilus, a Vapor Shark Glass, a drip atomizer (HH 357), and five carto tanks (three Phiniacs and two Loki Labs tanks). I bought a genesis hybrid today to learn rebuilding. I really wanted a taste of everything that's out there. :)

Best thing to do is try them all out to see what suits you best.
I have been through quite a few, and seem to always return to carto's.

For my VVs I started off with a Lavatube, then a Vamo before I got to the Provari. I have 6 Protanks - 2 minis, 1 PT2, 1 PT3, 2 Aeros. I like them a lot only because of the rebuilt heads. Since I started with the less expensive PVs, I paired them with the Kanger stuff. Judging by reviews, I'd go with a Nautilus to put on the Provari if you're stuck on using a clearo and do not want to rebuild. The chamber in those are much like Kayfuns which I thnk is making a big difference in the vape.
