I need a good working tank with coils for when I don’t feel like building my own. Right now I have a Uforce tank which actually performs very well. It’s consistant, doesn’t leak and causes zero issues.

My other current tank is Voopoo Maat which performs well when it feels like it. For some reason, the OHMs jump all over the place with it and it drives me frickin NUTS. I get a great vape, then it jumps up and I get a hot vape, then it jumps a little lower and so on.

Looking for MTL type tank and prefer LOADS of flavor and around .20-.60 coils. I haven’t been hanging out in the forum for awhile so I have no clue what’s new, performs great and so forth. Any suggestions is appreciated.

MTL is more related to high ohms, for example i do run my ammit RTA mtl tank with 1x 1.10 ohm SS316 coil... for saltz and 13W or close by, for Freebase liquid i run 0.60 ohm coils...

If you want you could try a restricted air flow tank and pretty fine driptip, a closed one, since the mtl is related to restricted puff of draws,

there is a cheap and great performer kit if you dont want to build your own coils, the Flint Kit by geekvape, amazing unit, portable and uses drop-in coils or commercial ones.

Regards,

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll check out that tank. I haven’t used a coil above .60 in a couple of years but I guess I still feel like I’m MTL vapor bcuz I usually don’t go below .20 ohms

My understanding is .6 is the lowest point MTL really goes, while .2 is about as low as one wants to go period on a mech for battery draw and other reasons. .2 isn’t just DL it’s the lower end of DL.

MTL vs. DL isn’t about ohms or watts though it’s about how you inhale. RDL sounds like the thing for you, which is a DL coil but with a lot of air restriction. My best RDL atty is a bigblock454 RDA that I drilled a squonk hole in. 22mm, 4 vertical coils.

Cool, I check that one out too. I don’t want a cheapo tank nor high end, kinda one in the middle, easy to use for my “running around” vaping. I usually drip or use my squonk at home. And you’re right, my vape style is MTL. I just prefer .20-.60 coils. I usually build my coils around .60-.80 for my squonk/drippers.

The bigblock 454 v.1 (not the v.2) was a really expensive RDA back in the day but it sold very poorly because that was right when squonkers came back. As a result they’re really cheap if you can find one. Making it squonk is a PITA though. You basically have to have a high precision drill press and bits so small they have only one flute.

It’s an RDA though. A dripper that needs wound coils and there are 4 of them.

Innokin Zenith and Zlide for drop in coils.

Ego One tanks (I use the megas--4 ml) with CLR (R stands for rebuildable) coils; those coils are wonderful because they can be used straight from the box, rewicked/dry burned many times, and eventually rebuilt. I love mine but they are becoming hard to find.

I do only MTL, and the best rta tank I've found is the eHpro True MTL. Prior to that it was the doggystyle, both SXK and SJMY versions. I only build 0.58 spaced coils- 28g SS, 2mm ID, 7 wraps, and generally vape at 8-11W. Out of all the builds I tried, that one works best for me in most rta's.

And it's probably the worst time in vaping history to start trying pods. If you find one you like, you probably need to stock up on a ton of them, because it looks like most won't be available for long. But my favorite is the Vladdin RE, which is getting about as much time as my True these days.

Ok , now I really feel like a noob again. What’s a pod?
Pod=Juul or similar.
Small to smallish battery and sealed or refillable tank/coil units. (Hello 2010, again)
Think stardust/ce4 with a proprietary connection to an EGO sized battery.
Vape Pod Systems
Welcome back!

There are a lot of new pods, and pod-like products, and no real hard definition.

But generally, it originally meant that instead of a mod/battery and a tank that you build coils for or use replaceable coils, a pod will have a proprietary disposable atty- that you just toss the whole coil/tank assembly when done. Some are closed pods (not designed to be easily refilled), others are open ones, that you can buy empty and put in your own juice. Juul is closed, the Vladdin I recommended is open. I buy empty pods and put in my juice.

But that's kind of muddied up now that some pod systems are actually rebuildable. And some make what they call pods (Smok Nord, for example), that you can replace the coil in.

Hey, AngiBe. Remember me?

Good Starter Setups for a Beginner Vaper

For a MTL tank with factory made coils I recommend an Innokin Zlide or Zenith tank. They both use the same coils, and I believe they are available down to 0.5 ohm.

Zenith Kanthal Coil 0.8ohm Atomizer Head:
  • Manufacturer's Recommended Wattage: 15 - 18W
Zenith Kanthal Coil 1.6ohm Atomizer Head:
  • Manufacturer's Recommended Wattage: 10 - 14W
Zenith Plexus Z Kanthal Mesh Coil 0.5ohm Atomizer Head:
  • Manufacturer's Recommended Wattage: 14 - 19W
Zenith Z-PLEX3D Kanthal Mesh Coil 0.48ohm Atomizer Head:
  • Manufacturer's Recommended Wattage: 13 - 16W

Thanks for the info and ya, this seems like going back to vaping 101? I don’t mind using a few tanks with premade coils but I think I’d rather build than a pod. I could be wrong but I’d don’t think that’s the way I’d wanna go. Wild how much changes when you’re not on the forum much, thanks again!
