over-steeping?

hey guys. i store all my e cig supplies including all my juice in a large wooden box that has a lid. i started doing this originally because it is an easy way to steep juice without having to keep juices separate from all my other supplies. the last couple days I've noticed that when i take the lid off the box i am smacked in the face with a ridiculously strong and delicious scent of all my juices. this led me to wonder if it is possible to steep juices for too long. i honestly don't know much about steeping i just know that to steep juice you should keep it in a dark cool place with the lid on.

the general consensus is, e-liquid is good for 2 years if stored in a cool dark place.
some people have reported e-liquid that has been stored properly for longer than 2 years being totally fine.

i have had one of my DIY batches for about 1.8 years. its still good, and very tasty.

there might be some e-liquids that go bad under 1-2 years even when stored properly.
if the e-liquid seems weird at all, don't use it.
when i doubt, toss it out. its not worth the risk
