To begin, I'm a very heavy vaper, and vape almost non-stop from the time I get home from work to the time I go to bed.

As I look at my 10 ML bottle of 16 MG e-liquid, now 1/4 empty (I opened it only last night), I'm inclined to think I'm over-vaping, but how do I know unless I feel multiple symptoms of nicotine poisoning? While I sit here wondering if that slight pain and the strange "cold-burn" feeling around my heart that's shooting down my arm is me over-dosing on nicotine, or just indigestion from the grilled chicken I had for dinner, I'd like to ask something to those with more experience: how much is too much?

I'm currently using 16 mg liquid. I haven't vaped as much today as I did yesterday (3 16mg carts, and 3 refilled carts of 16 mg vanilla liquid). I did go to bed with heart pain last night, though, but had no other symptoms of nicotine poisoning, and I felt fine in the morning. The carts are those that come with the Volcano (same size as the Blu), and often they're still 1/4 full when I refill (un-modded Volcano carts don't wick well). Generally 5-6 drops of liquid will fill a single cart.

I hear people talk about using only one or two carts a day when they vape, yet I use 3x that amount in a day. Am I over-doing it, or am I just being paranoid?

Everyones system works a bit different though, I have built that tolerance up over the last year of vaping and didnt start there, if your feeling your heart racing I might lower you MG a bit and then you can vape all day with no problem or worries, on the other hand I find that upping my MG makes me vape much less certain times, I also believe its the nic adiction that people have to how much one really puts in there system, after 6pm I cut mine in hafe because I find I sleep much better and my heart isnt racing at night time, morningtime it's back to the higher MG, Get my drift

I noticed you have been a member here since November. Have you been vaping since then? The same amount? Are you using a different liquid?
I think 3ml a day is about the average.
Listen to your body! Not strangers on an internet forum. We have no idea what your physical condition is. Maybe it's something you need to get checked out.

Thanks, that's good to know. Now I can go back to non-stop vaping. I was getting worried there for a second. I always get worried when the heart pain starts up.

Me and my hypochondria.

If you have chest pains, which you do, from what I didn't miss, I opine that you should probably get checked sooner than I think.

My husband just pointed out that I might be hyperventilating. I honestly never thought about that before. I always assumed hyperventilating was a temporary state of fast and heavy breathing. As it turns out, it's simply "over breathing", and can result in decreased carbon dioxide in the blood stream. A lack of CO2 in the blood stream can cause blood vessel spasms near the heart. That explains the swallowed air and headaches, too.

It makes even more sense when you take into consideration that my atomizers are dying and it's been getting increasingly harder to get satisfying vapor production by the day. I have been having to inhale longer and with more effort. I guess it's a good thing I've got a new ecig on the way. I can adequately test that theory when it gets here. Until then, I'll simply have to be careful when vaping.

I'm glad to hear other people are wondering about this. But after reading how much some vape,I know I'm no where near heavy usage.10ml bottles last me for a while.Although I bounce back and forth between bottles everyday,I still don't use a 1\4 of a bottle a day.24mg juice makes me feel done after a few puffs. To each his own though!

You need to go to a doctor.......I doubt this is solely from the nic but it could be inflaming a already delicate issue. If you have a home BP kit take a read before a good vape and when you start feeling bad....if you have a drop or rise and/or your pulse reading is higher..that is a strong indicator that something is wrong....
Remember, us vapers have greatly improved our health by cutting out the "lung chemicals" but nic has a direct effect or the heart. You really need to get a EEG. Safe than sorry....good luck!

Did you mean and EKG? Otherwiase, good advice. Don't wait around for answers on a message board when you are suffering chest pain! Especially chest pain radiating down your arm. Which arm?

I agree with Grenage, and I'm surprised it took someone so long to point out:

PAIN THAT STARTS AT THE HEART AND SHOOTS DOWN YOUR LEFT ARM IS A WARNING SIGN OF A HEART ATTACK.

I thought that was something standard that everyone knew, apparently I was wrong. Get yourself to a doctor posthaste if this is becoming a regular thing!

And just based on my own experience and nothing else, ~7ml of liquid in a day is A LOT.

ETA:I misread the OP, the amount vaped daily is more like ~3ml, which is a bit more reasonable! My mistake!

Nicotine can raise blood pressure and heart rate. I would probably get some zero nic liquid for the times of day you're vaping so heavy. Keep two e-cigs in play, one with nic, one without. Use the zero nic as your pacifier, and take a puff of nicotine OCCASIONALLY.

But seriously dude, heart/arm pain, Get to your doctor, pronto!
