Ok I have a few flavors that I have tested and know what % that I like them at a stand alone flavor. Now I want to mix 2 or 3 together. One of them being the more prominent than the others. Here is an example of what I mean. (the percentage is what I like as a stand alone).

Flavor #1 @ 15% The prominent flavor
Flavor #2 @ 10% A equal background flavor with #3
Flavor #3 @ 20% Another background flavor

If I mix them all @ the stand alone % that adds up to 45% flavor. Or mix the #1 flavor @ full 15% and cut the other 2 background flavors in half which is still 30% flavor. Or mix each separately and use twice as much of #1 as the other 2.
I am not concerned with nic level...I vape 36mg all day and that is what my nic base is to start with. If the nic level is lower no problem I just vape more as long as it has some nic in it I am good to go. I am only making this for myself, once I get better at it I may make some for my sister.

Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to answer.

What you like them at individually is a good start but its not a guaranteed ratio as far as how it will combine with the other flavors. I would not use the nic base until you perfect your flavor ratio. Are you using one of the calculators? Why is the prominent flavor at 15%---is it stronger than the other two and therefore needs less to be prominent? Are you vaping high VG?

I would precombine the base flavors at the percentages you like them in using one of the calculators, let them steep in VG or PG , and leave the nic base out of the equation to make sure you like that ratio before you add the nic.

Here's what I'd do...

Your average percentage is 15%, so that's the percent I'd go for. If you divide each stand alone you get (1) 5%, (2) 3.3%, and (3) 6.6%. Since you want #1 to stand out more, you could round down flavors 2 and 3, and add that extra percent to 1. Then you'd have 6%, 3%, and 6%. If you want flavor 1 even more prominent, you could take more off of 2 and 3. To keep the proportions of 2 and 3 the same, you'd want to take twice as much off of 3. Then you might have (1) 9%, (2) 2%, (3) 4%.

Hopefully that makes sense. :)

the reason for different percentages are different companies, fruit and tobacco, and personal preference. I can only use the simplest of calculators........I am on a very old mac and scubas won't work. I have no problem with the calculations. I did all of mine by hand then went and check them out on a comp that I could work scubas on and they all check out. I am a little OCD....it has taken me 6 weeks just to figure out the exact % of 10 of my new flavors. I only test in pg or vg no nic.

Did you try one of these calculators eJuice Me Up - e-Juice e-Liquid Recipe Calculator or
there are several on this site DIY E-Liquid (E-Juice) Mixing Station! I am not trying to force one on you but it can really be helpful to have one or more of these on your computer. The 2nd link has several calculators.

I can only use a very simple calculator myself and several of these worked great. Without any calculators, I would probably wing it, like Leo said, making the dominant flavor and the other 2 total 15-20 percent and see how that goes. I wish you good luck with this next step and remember its ok for it not be perfect. You gain confidence the more you do this. :)
