Most people err on the side of caution, CCarr. I don't leave them on the charger over night, but if I forget and leave the house with one charging, I don't panic, either.
I agree with Nermal and do the same. The issue is that if the charger does not stop charging, the battery will vent gas and could burn. It happens very rarely, but it can. The same is true for cell phones, laptops, tablets, etc.
After everything I've read and the videos I've watched on youtube, I try to pull it off the charger as soon as it is green and never leave it charging unattended - especially when I'm sleeping. I used to but not since I've read the stories of people that know how batteries work and what happens when they fail. I bought a lipo bag too just to be safe but I must admit I almost never use it.....oops! If it catches fire, don't douse it with water either.
So I agree with Nermal and Ryedan but you should do your own research.
