Well, I just won the PIF thread's new member contest, and I've got two units "running".

The first is a regular manual 510 model, and the second is a 510 compatible mini-copper mod.

On both of these the atomizer gets pretty hot, pretty quick. An at a certain point the vapor feels caustic in my throat. I only experienced this problem briefly with the first model mentioned, but since I haven't received a charger yet it died.

Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be much appreciated,
-Derik

P.S. If anyone has a link handy to a thread about ejuice/nic doses/what strength to smoke all day, I'd like to try finding an already existing thread instead of posting a new one.

Not sure about the atomizer problem, but I'll help you out with the dosage.

All e-cigs do not deliver the amount of nicotine it states. They deliver about 10-20% of the amount dissolved in the pg. So if one cart has the equivilant of 16mg/ml (about a pack of cigs) you only get about 1.6 -2 mg (2-4 cigs)

Do not worry about overdosing as it would be nearly impossible. The inefficiency of e-cigs in vaporizing nicotine is the reason a lot of users don't feel the same buzz. You can try extra concentrated 36 mg if you want.

If you want to eventually want to go to 0 nicotine, you can start at 16mg then go to 10, 6, 0mg.

Hope this helps

Regarding the atomizers, are they putting out vapor? It sounds as if you have flooded the atomizer. They should run warm, but not hot to the touch. If they are very hot, there could be a few things causing it:

1. You have flooded the atomizer - Take it of, blow it out onto a kleenex
2. The atomizer is dirty - This requires giving it a bath, or a nice dry burn
3. You are vaping it at a higher voltage, and that's what's causing it
4. It's an LR atty, and it will always be that hot when it's vaping
