how do i prevent my DID mini from over wicking.. im using 400 mesh and 32gauge kanthal.. i use a square piece ofr 30x30 ish mesh..

4/3 wrap 2.0ohms and i leave the other nut off.. if i put the other nut in the hole.. i get dry hit after 2 drags

but if i let the did sit.. first few hits are over wicked because i have crazy throat hit and flavor but small vapor..

my rod is aligned with the hole (haha).. and i have pinched the top of my rod close.. i mean wick

i read about placing a piece of mesh in the other hole to control wicking.. but is there something fundamentally wrong with my setup i can fix? too much wick material?

The thin walled/big hole straw like tube will wick a touch less when when the atty is vertical but will allow more juice to run into the "vape chamber" when laid down. at least for me.

for me the thick walled/almost no hole wick would hold more juice but would take to long to wick for my chain vaping style.

On my G-Tank (top tank/bottom coil) I like the thin wall straw type as it is more gravity fed and works great.
Withe the genesis style (my bliSS) I started out with the same wick but it would run too close to dry hit so I used a lil more mesh and made a tighter roll and ended up with a medium-thick walled smaller hole tube and it hits perfect every time.

Hope that all made sense. Just gotta find that happy medium that works best for your style.

It's a fine line between getting the juice to rise up the wick and allowing air back into the tank. They are both connected and dependant on each other. My first few tries my wicking would be pretty good though the first 1/3 of the tank and then it couldn't keep up. I just kept trying different amounts of wick, different tightness and so on. just be sure to only make one change at a time and record the measurements of the wick and it's results. Ya don't wanna get stuck trying the same ole thing over and over and getting frustrated...:toast:
